As we're nearly at the end of the first thread, let's make sure we keep the topic current.

There have been five women now who have spoken to podcasts about the predatory behaviour of Neil Gaiman.

Oh don't get me wrong, I wasn't saying that the women you have mentioned are necessarily blameless. I didn't explain myself very well.

I have read the thread and was quietly raging about how differently men and women are treated by the media and society for real or even perceived transgressions.

I'm not blaming anyone other than NG for NG's actions. Sorry if it came across that I am.

The double standards for men and women are shocking, I agree. Women - you can't dissent from the woke ideology in any way or we'll destroy you. Men - you can literally rape girls and we'll still like you.

That is the first journal update since June. Scrolling down, it seems previous journal entries were written by Neil Gaiman, while this one is bylined Dan Guy. I think Neil would have put his own name to it if he wasn’t currently hiding under a rock, waiting for the allegations to be forgotten.

NG loses his collaboration with BPAL

For context, BPAL is Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab, a US perfume company specialising in goth/fantasy stuff, which it seems has had a very long term partnership with NG.

"Please respect our inability to comment further on the matter at this time."

Interesting line in the press release... Not won't comment or don't want to comment, but unable to comment.

There will have been some legals to get out of the way.

I'm going to guess they're a relatively small business and, from their customer base, NG branded perfume not an insignificant part of their sales. So it's brave of them to terminate the partnership.

Relatively small yes but very well known in that sort of very online goth girl fandom community.

They've been working with him since the 2000s, haven't they? I suppose it's a question of whether he helped their sales more than they helped him cultivate that goth girl audience.

That was mentioned briefly in the press a few months ago. He was contrite and "lesson learned" but then they often are. It sits nicely between "if I did , it wasn't that bad" and "you made me do it"
