This is just wonderful news.

Take note, all of the institutions that continue to discriminate against lawful gender critical beliefs.

Thanks so much for this OP.
That apology letter from Metanoia was so satisfying to read!
I wonder if there's a way to show that for those who can't access X.
(I'll have a look)

PeriIsKickingMyButt · 14/08/2024 10:01

That's absolutely amazing news

lcakethereforeIam · 14/08/2024 10:03

And a proper apology, it couldn't have been more fulsome if I had written* *it! I'm so used to seeing non-apology apologies. I'm so pleased for him.

TeenToTwenties · 14/08/2024 10:04

That was pretty unequivocal.

DameMaud · 14/08/2024 10:04

.

Chrysanthemum5 · 14/08/2024 10:04

Will he get compensation for lost earnings?

Great news. And the apology letter from Metanoia was actually much more of a full aknowledgement of their mistakes than I had expected after having read James Esses' tweet. It actually read as if they had fully and sincerely taken on board their mistakes and sincerely wanted to move forward appropriately,

DameMaud · 14/08/2024 10:06

That works Thelnebriati
My attempt just came out as a full stop😂

So glad that finally he has got this result.

But, how long has this taken and what a toll he has paid in the meantime - which I suppose is why they keep doing this to people.

I am especially irritated that many of the Institutes are taxpayer funded so don't end up 'paying' personally in the way that the people who they target do.

Bellamari · 14/08/2024 10:08

What happens to him now though? He’s still lost his career.

Yes exactly. Especially appreciate where they say they note that they had not applied their professional values of empathy, active listening, and unconconditional positive regard to James in their dealings with him.
That suggests true reflection.

Yes a real apology

Helleofabore · 14/08/2024 10:13

I just read this. It is excellent news.

Turophilic · 14/08/2024 10:14

Brilliant news, and richly deserved.

I hope an eye wateringly large settlement accompanied it.

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 14/08/2024 10:19

I'm very happy to see such a good outcome and a wholehearted apology.

ArabellaScott · 14/08/2024 10:24

Excellent. Well done, James.

CocoapuffPuff · 14/08/2024 10:26

That's a very good apology letter. Professional and reflective. I wonder who has left? Cos that big a change of attitude is usually only possible when accompanied by a forceful personality leaving.

TrainedByDinosaurs · 14/08/2024 10:33

Great result, let’s hope it makes it easier for counsellors to be reality based going forward

AIstolemylunch · 14/08/2024 10:35

Such great news.

Hopefully he is young enough to continue his training and move forward with his career. He wont be short of patients now i'd have thought. The first thing I'd do if one of my children started getting pulled into the gender cult would be to seek out someone like him.

MalcolmTuckersBollockingface · 14/08/2024 10:35

More of a 'result' than I was expecting, tbh. I agree, that there must have been a change in personnel for this to be possible.

Interestingly, at the last meeting of the Trustees, June 2023, the minutes show concerns raised about staff leaving. However, substantial portions of the minutes are blacked out so we can't be sure what was discussed ... also seems there was a 'culture review' that seems to have upset some people:

'Culture Review: Has commenced, concerns have been raised with who the
consultants are and their connections to the Institute. Q&A sessions have
been held with staff to provide reassurances on how the selection was
made.'

'...the culture needs to change with a communication piece and middle management involvement.'

'Trustee Neil Laventure asked the CEO for a view on why staff are leaving.
The CEO noted that there is general turnover, [BLACKED OUT TEXT]'

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 14/08/2024 10:38

This is such great news. Great apology letter too.

Maya Forstater really has changed the landscape on this issue hasn't she?

Hopefully the message is getting through.

ArabellaScott · 14/08/2024 10:38

'The Trustees raised the following questions and comments:
• What risks will the staffing issues cause and is there a chance courses will
not run? The CEO advised that there is a financial and reputational risk but
is aware of positive news on recruitment. '

Looks like there may have been a lot of upset going on, behind all that blacked out text.
