Oh yes they did, and I was about to buy a new kitchen from them. I didnt bother, I went to b and q instead. Also stonewalled but not as nuts as wickes.

I guess the plan was for all the non bigots to shop in wickes more. I guess that plan failed. I'll never go in wickes again, and if b and q come out with such nonsense I wont go there either. And the rest.

I drive past Wickes these days and shop in b&q instead. Also have Screwfix, tool station, Topps tiles, Selco, Howdens and Homebase to choose from so will never need to spend any money in Wickes ever again. They don't miss me and likewise I don't miss them.

I haven't been back in since. I mean seriously if I was one of their Board Directors I would not be best pleased with Chief Exec. #prat Such a stupid thing to have done. Yes he is allowed his own PERSONAL views, but to have associated that with company values. No.

It's a bit Gerald Ratner isn't it? Bosses of these companies never learn that when you insult your customers, those customers tend to then shop elsewhere - such arrogance!
GC women might not be Wickes main source of income but you'd think a company boss would realise that losing any profitable sales is risky - you never know when a col crisis or a pandemic or some other economic disaster is around the corner!

Remember the top man one about it being the place to get a suit for first job interview or court appearance? That went down like a bucket of sick too iirc.

It's noticeable that the decline in kitchen sales is greater than the overall decline. And yet it's the "challenging environment" not that Wicked pissed off the customers who choose the kitchens.....

Yep I don't go there anymore, shame because it used to be my go-to place for odds and ends: but never again! ( Unless JKR takes it over!)

In case anybody from Wickes is reading, I also refuse to shop at Wickes now. We are always doing something in the house, but they told me they didn't want my money so I listened. 🤷‍♀️
