Another 'deeply technical' win for Jolyon and the good law project?

Post of the day.

👏

NoWordForFluffy · 29/07/2024 13:22

Time for Wes to get the ban implemented permanently now, ASAP.

WickedSerious · 29/07/2024 13:27

So many unhappy little bunnies.

TooBigForMyBoots · 29/07/2024 13:28

Great news.

Imagine coming out for sterilising children

BaronessEllarawrosaurus · 29/07/2024 13:36

Its the claims of life saving treatment that annoys me so much. Decent therapy would be life saving but they aren't pushing for that. Its just medical affirmation that they want.

I've never seen more lies in a row since I last updated my own CV:

Very good news. But how on earth do we deal with the idiots online without being repressive? Those arguments are so incredibly damaging to vulnerable children

You can't discuss anything on Reddit, it's an echo chamber where only people who's opinions line up rise to the top of the discussion.

It's a genuine regressive circlejerk where no new ideas or discussions ever happen.

Great news

I didn’t know it was being challenged tbh, who by?

Edit - oh Good law Project, I hope they have to cover all court fees and time

There are no words for that utter bullshit of a statement.

they do, sadly from public donations. I think they raised £60K for this one.

I’m assuming the people who donated were very keen to let children use puberty blockers

Their intentions were poor and money lost, at least it’s not tax payers covering this stuff

Justme56 · 29/07/2024 14:07

I didn’t realise that Helen Belcher and Jane Fae were involved in TransActual.

Common sense prevails thank goodness.

Good Law Project heading for an entry into the Guinness book of records at this rate. Most cases lost? Most money wasted?

Tax payers will be covering the government's costs though.

I dread to think how much the GLP has cost the public purse to date.

Good to know, thanks. There really is a fairly small group of these men leading this in the UK, isn’t there? So many of them (Fae being a classic case) who have shown themselves to be deeply porn addled or similar.

The public have a right to know about how much of their money is being wasted on these cases brought by the GLP. It should be published.

At what point does fox beater gain the status of vexatious claimant? Any legal eagles here know?

UtopiaPlanitia · 29/07/2024 14:33

Interesting judgement - I found it fascinating to read.

Okay, now we need to see the ministers at Stormont addressing the issue of Susie Green arranging to have puberty blockers sent from the EU to ‘friendly families’ in Northern Ireland who have undertaken to forward the drugs to people in GB.

N. Ireland remained in the EU single market but it seems to me that using this unique legal status of N Ireland to subvert lawful restriction of potentially harmful medicines is not only wrong, it might also leave the people forwarding the drugs liable in some way if anything should happen to the people who then take those drugs. I also think that this exploiting of a loophole was not what was intended when the withdrawal agreement was made between UK and EU.

Signalbox · 29/07/2024 14:34

Brilliant. This should be a huge incentive for Labour to do the right thing. Although I suspect the proposed study will be the fly in the ointment.

RoyalCorgi · 29/07/2024 14:35

Two cheers for the BBC, which has actually reported the story:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4ng3gz99nwo

But of course they haven't bothered to interview anyone who is pleased at the ruling (apart from Wes Streeting), just quoted at length from the lunatic TransActual and the Good Law Project.

The Royal Courts of Justice in London

Puberty blockers ban is lawful, says High Court

Ban on puberty blockers introduced by last government using emergency legislation was lawful, High Court rules.
