Yep. Huge "Progress Flag" hanging in the window of the "Music Bar" and men allowed in the Ladies Toilets.
Men who have been exposing themselves to women, going by the need for notices asking them to please remember to close the cubicle doors when they are using them and to "pull up/zip up" before leaving the "private space", ie cubicles, and going back into the waiting/hand washing shared space.
The doors into the Toilets off the corridor have both been wedged open since the pub reopened after Covid, presumably as a risk-reduction measure to deter men from sexually assaulting women in there? The Free Trade has done the same thing.
What was the Gents off the main bar does have the door closed, otherwise the urinals would be open to view from the bar. There is a cubicle beyond the urinals and staff tell customers that this is the "Disabled Toilet" - but not that a woman can expect to enter and have to get past a man at the urinals in order to reach the cubicle, nor that the "waiting area" for the cubicle contains the urinals, nor that the door to the cubicle does not lock.
The disrespect for the privacy and dignity of all customers and in addition for the safety of women is off-scale.
There was a children's party upstairs not long ago. When I went to what was the Ladies (now called "Cubicles") there was a Muslim mum with her young daughter trying to work out which cubicle was free and whether the doors locked. I didn't want to risk the little girl wetting herself if I told her mum that men, any and all men, were allowed in there and her mum then decided that she could not use the toilets.
I know that there has been more than one petition to the Cumberland asking to speak to Jo about the situation with the toilets but as far as I know they were ignored. I didn't dare sign them because I didn't want to compromise our ukulele session meeting there. Other women who go to the ukulele session are not happy about the toilets and some of them do not have anything to drink, or very little, while they are there so that they can avoid having to use the toilets.
