I no longer X so don't know any details. Apparently GC women critical of Labour have had their accounts suspended overnight, including Shelley Charlesworth of Transgender Trend and Ann Sinnott of Authentic Equality Alliance.

I'm a bit sick of men shutting up women.

I've seen this account mentioned elsewhere as being behind it banning accounts.

Is his purpose to interfere in the election of another country? I thought only the Russians did that? 🤔

Agree , Twix a bit of an echo chamber anyway. I was surprised and delighted to read that only 8% of the global population is on it.

Yet politicians and celebrities seem terrified of it. When governments make announcements on X they lose a bit of dignity and respect imo

As someone said up thread, the big accounts will probably get reinstated, but the smaller accounts will probably get ignored. If anyone is willing to @ Elon Musk on my behalf I would happily DM my X handle. I only had 50 odd followers, but they were all quality (no bots) and I enjoyed following them. @BoiledBeetle if you are reading, you and I were mutuals.

The owner of Twitter is GC. If people have been banned they will have broken the terms and conditions.

David Tennant doesn't care. He doesn't have social media and if he did care he would have sued Glinner (and won).

My account got suspended too, and I literally only liked a few posts yesterday that politely criticised David Tennant's speech - I haven't even retweeted anything for a year, let alone posted any of my own content. Honestly bizarre, especially since 'likes' are now supposed to be private.

And yet Elon Musk is looking into it. How peculiar.

I only see Elon tweeting that he’s looking into the Visegrad24 account deletion. I can’t see any mention of the GC accounts

I'm a bit amazed at the faith some MNetters show in Musk. As far as I'm concerned, Twitter is/was an appalling concept, and being taken over by the arsehole Musk has done nothing to improve it. My decision to never have anything to do with it remains one of the few good ones I've made in recent years. The format is antithetical to reasoned debate, and benefits the simplistic 'gotcha'.

I barely use twix since musk started fucking with it and my life is simpler. I am re-reading the Ink black heart (not from choice, but I'm doing a whole series re-read and can't skip it) and the whole twitter thing already feels like it's dated, like a time from the past. Musk buying twitter then breaking it is the best thing that could have happened to online 'activism'

You are probably right. I only joined a year ago, and there are lots of echo chambers on there, not to mention infighting. It was just a good place to find out what was happening in the GC world from different perspectives without having to google individuals and their substacks / other social media.

I’m also another GC X user whose account was permanently suspended last night. I’ve appealed twice and have had responses almost immediately, telling me that my account will not be restored. There are clearly still a lot of TRAs working at X. They’re scared because so many women are speaking up.

My problem is that I’ve appealed but can’t access my original email I signed up to X with, so I let them know I changed it in the appeal box but don’t know whether they’ll bother responding to that. Anyway, I’ve just created a new account. Just got to try and get my followers back now!

As said up thread twiX is one of the least used platforms, and most of the groups some say they are following have other outlets.

And yes last week they announced they will now share porn.

Its main purpose is for lazy journalists who cant be bothered to do proper research and just pick up comments on twiX as "news".

I think GC accounts are being reinstated but one needs to contact someone with a big account to help. There was a malicious attempt to censor GC and pro jewish accounts.
