TwiX purged of GC accounts?

I no longer X so don't know any details. Apparently GC women critical of Labour have had their accounts suspended overnight, including Shelley Charlesworth of Transgender Trend and Ann Sinnott of Authentic Equality Alliance.

Yes it seems loads of reporting has gone on in the last 24 hours. Seemingly of people posting videos and being critical of the appalling behaviour of the police and thugs at the LWS event, among other responses to current issues.

Not just the people posting about LWS- lots of posters who haven’t mentioned it as well. Accounts that posted about David Tennant also seem to have been targeted

My account was suspended overnight. I posted something about David Tennant transing his child. I can only assume it was this that got my account suspended. However, I didn’t use ‘hate speech’ or profanities and didn’t say anything that a lot of other users weren’t also saying. I have appealed, but don’t hold out much hope.

I appealed and recieved an email saying the account is permanently suspended and will not be restored.
I retweeted posts about Kemi, Tennant and LWS. I may have also liked a tweet by Ann Sinnott.

This is really sinister. So much for freedom of speech. I thought Elon was supposed to be dealing with this.

There are so many TRAs in tech that it is conceivable that X is still riddled with them and this round of bans is not due to Musk.

The TRAs have a big organisation of sexist scumbags on twitter who us the report weapon to take down accounts. Very frustrating.

However it also shows their weakness they need censorship to win.

Yep, I think there's something of a purge. I loathe Elon Musk and most of his values, but I did think TwiX was a place where you could generally have some freedom of speech and thought. I have had my account permanently suspended (2 weeks back) and tried repeatedly to talk to a real person, as it was never explained WHICH TwiX regs I'd 'violated'. I gave up. It's bloody annoying actually - I will have been chucked out for a reply to someone else's tweet, or even a like, not for my own content, and nothing I've said has ever been extreme. And I was actually getting a bit jaded with my feed of GC accounts (no judgement! I just needed a break) and was going to use TwiX to follow the election and how people were thinking. Oh well.

They should have learned by now that it doesn't stop women. They've been mass reporting for years so we just took the arguments off Twitter, to the press, to politicians and the wider public. It's always an own goal but makes them feel powerful.

When they switched up the reporting mechanism again so you can’t give details about what you’re reporting & why they simultaneously made it easier for TRAs to report-spam & harder for GCs to to report posts that LITERALLY BREAK THE LAW IN THE UK. They wouldn’t be worth pursuing for malcomms; & not infrequently they’re from outwith the country - but if the reporter is in the UK, UK rules apply. (Given I’m in the UK, this is very different from buckeejit TRAs using German law to get other people’s posts deleted then braying about their 1st Amendment right to libel women…)

It seems that two of the accounts removed were both major targets from Brighton LWS event.

one was a woman hounded by the mob who hide in the shop. She had widely watched video of TRAs being awful

Another of the Jewish man harassed and insulted by the mob who stole his shoe.

When I think of all the hate speech Willoughby et al dish out to women, yet their accounts remain untouched.

Pro-Israel accounts, some them very big like Visegrad 24 were purged and some reinstated last night. Wokey tech bro with twitchy fingers probably went on a rampage last night. The problem is that the big accounts get reinstated because noise is made that reaches Musk's ears but the smaller accounts disappear for good. There is a purpose to the censorship.

Yes I've been banned, permanently they say. To say I'm astounded is an understatement as I think I am reasonable. I can't even remember liking anything about Tennant - or posting. I've appealed. Shelley C

When all you've got left is to just frantically try to hide the words from the world, a kind of cyber scream of 'shut up shut up!' , you're beyond desperate.

Hiding the words on a screen does not make the knowledge and the reality go away.

It's very odd which public figures prompt this kind of extreme over reaction.

The TRA’s were out in full force yesterday. I think the idea of Starmer meeting with JKR really upset them. They obviously don’t like the idea of anyone having a proper conversation in person. I’m not sure this has anything to do with it, just my observations.

It’s bizarre. I’ve reported some hideous racism on there and they’ve said it hasn’t contravened their guidelines.

I’ve just deleted X. I hardly post, just browse. Mainly look at things like ForWomen, Mr Menno, Julie Bindel and some transgender supportive accounts to keep informed. I noticed that when I went to trending, even though I’m set to the UK, I’m just getting loads of US Sport, news and stuff I’m totally not interested in. I tried to change my settings but couldn’t. It was never like that when it was plain old Twitter.

I also have seen more hardcore porn while just scrolling through innocuous threads - really graphic stuff showing penetration. It’s just there. There seems to be no censorship or no limits to what is shown. It’s really a cess-pit - I know that that stuff has probably always been there but it’s everywhere now. Is it deliberate to drive women away - is Elon just wanting X to be for the Menz now?

TheTRA desperately want Labour to get in so they're trying to shut down anyone who suggests Labour are a poor choice for GC women. I'm surprized JK's account still stands.
