This is from Jenny Watson who's known for fearlessly kicking out the males invading her lesbian speed dating events, now she's doing the same with a new dating app for women. Hopefully it will work as advertised but even if the usual crop of males manage to impose themselves through whatever deceitful trickery, it just further proves her point about how lesbians are being bullied out of their own spaces. Wishing her the best of luck with this!

It would be a novel idea indeed.

However, ‘if wishes were fishes’ and all that. In the meantime, some women want to have a spaces for themselves and other women only and need to start somewhere. They either use one of the software options to do a first screen and then follow up those who fall outside the screening option they choose. Or, they have to abandon their efforts because they cannot manage it without hiring a team to manually contact each and every person to onboard them.

As it has been said. Wouldn’t it be nice to just have the confidence that all male people would respect the boundaries of others?

My advice for what it is worth:

Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. The technology might not be perfect but it will filter out some chancers and discourage others from trying it on.

When I did a neutral portrait without any tilt, so my facial proportions were not distorted.

Apps like Starling Bank get the person to record the video reciting an exact sentence. The machine learning looks for filters, and other tell-tail signs of video manipulation. It is quite well for detecting fraud

I get 97.15% woman, from a terrible, post-menopausal railcard photo in which even I would be doubtful I'm a woman! DH is 91% man, though since he's a baldie I'm surprised he didn't get higher.

Jenny Watson doesn't actually complete any of her projects - she just likes to raise money from women and then not complete them, it was a lesbian venue before this which seems to have disappeared into the ether and I'm sure the dating app will go the same way.

Tested the Nyckel app using a photo of a trans-identified, VERY pretty guy I used to date (he took hormones for a while, but had been off them for years when we were involved) - huge blue eyes, full pink lips, thick, waist-length hair - and the app identified him as a woman with 84.85% confidence. So...
