It never ceases to amaze me how bigoted the people are who insist that we make everybody we meet aware of our pronouns, but not our species.
If I meet somebody who merely looks like a human man, how on earth am I meant to know whether that individual is actually human at all, and not a llama, gerbil or albatross, if they only tell me their pronouns but apparently want to deliberately leave me confused and at risk of causing embarrassment to everybody involved by using the incorrect labels and descriptors for everything else about them?
Also, why do they not routinely confirm their age as part of their 'meeting somebody for the first time' bio? Don't they care that everybody will cringe when, having been deprived of this essential personal info, I accidentally refer to them as a bonnie little new bundle of joy and comment on their beautiful delicate, soft, smooth skin when, completely unknown to me, they're actually 96 years old?
It's the same ladder of crazy; it's just a case of how far each person on it has chosen to climb.
