His new single Houdini which has 15 million views already is pretty scathing with jokes about transitioning cats. Pretty catchy:

Like other male stars who question this stuff Gervais, Chapelle, Alice Cooper etc he won't get seriously cancelled. Indeed interestingly even though his position is blatant in the song a lot of press so far does not even mention it. The main focus is talking about Eminem dissing Megan Thee Stallion, which is fairly typical for him see what he said about Britney, Christina Aguilera etc.

Eminem has a genderfluid them daughter Stevie which Eminem clearly thinks is nonsense. However the daughter APPEARS in the video with her two sisters to look shocked and get it more views. So Dad can misgender away apparently.

The BBC article on his return doesn't even mention any of this. Remember women artists were treated as pariahs for just questioning any of this.

Even more telling is the Pink News article. Remember how insane the coverage Pink News was of JKR. Here Eminem gets treated as basically a bit of a edgy jokester rather than a person triggering a trans genocide.

I am not sidelining Eminem's own love of edgy women hate here. He has said a bunch of repellent stuff, but cancelling him over it didn't work twenty years ago and is not going to work now. Just noting the massive double standards. Also this suggests the narrative is breaking down a little further.

There's been this whole meme going around on tiktok for the last few months where millennials warn Gen Z about not pissing off Gen X and now it's switched to "now look what you've done, you woke Shady up" 😂

I don't think it's the same as a reverse, it has some similarities.

We maybe aren't supposed to like Slim Shady or emulate him, he's rather unreformed, but it's also true that he makes some pretty astute observations about what is going on around him. And there is usually a logic to where he takes those observations.

Eminem and Slim Shady are characters he plays, and he does it well and makes me laugh. But then there are songs like Stan and Lose Yourself, which I suspect are all Marshall. Lose Yourself is quite poignant and I get a bit weepy when I hear it as the message is clear.

Am fairly sure he knows that a woman is an adult human female.

The new album dropped two weeks ago is absolutely full of misgendering and trans jokes. It is also no 1 in US managing to beat Taylor Swift's epic run [some might say this is the biggest issue with it]. Millions of online listens.

Notice no-one is even really trying to cancel him at all. No attempt to stop the album being sold. Of course it wouldn't work, but why is it he seems to be allowed to say anything and JKR makes a tweet and everyone goes crazy.

Must be something about Eminem which means he is allowed to speak.

Always loved Eminem. He's shone a light on so many things people tend not to sing about in the charts - domestic abuse, rape, child sexual abuse, drug use leading to appalling health and behavioural issues, stalking... Not many love songs, but the love for his first daughter has always been evident.

I don't know about that. Do you mean you have to understand Eminem to know whether or not he means what he's saying? The way I see it is that he's taking the piss about people being cancelled for things they say.

I was driving rurally recently and scanning through available radio station. I heard Houdini on some local station, so stayed on that station. It was the most unbelievably censored edit I've ever heard of anything.
