And through it all, this brain-dead "feminist" maintains an air of sorrowful compassion for the stupid Republican who cannot grasp the nuance of imprisoning women with violent serial rapists. She didn't have to do it - she enabled the rape and abuse of women in prison because she thinks the right of a man to be recognised as a woman - pardon me, a "hormonally female" man - trumps the right of a woman not to live in fear of rape or sexual assault in prison.

Even if he were the sweetest, least aggressive male in the world, women used to have the right to dignity and privacy. It seems those days are over. If I were 14, I'd be identifying the fuck out of womanhood too. It's a steaming pile of elephant ordure.

Last night ,I was out with a group of women I only recently got to know. We ended up talking about the US presidential election and how it is frightening that Trump might win. I made the observation that the democrats have to take some blame for staying with Biden - they rounded on me and started talking about Russian election interference and online misinformation campaigns 🙄🙄. I decided to bow out, I don’t know them well enough to start educating and besides, they don’t have a vote there.

There are plenty of examples of this kind of thing lately, Republican congressmen making fools of idiots - like that woman who thought it obvious that Serena Williams could beat any male tennis player.

I saw an interesting YouTube video yesterday of a young man talking about why he stopped being a Democrat. It's not inexplicable, when it comes down to it the Republicans are often sounding a lot less batshit. Even Cruz and Kennedy.

We know this - not the gotcha you thought it was.

It's a sad day when Ted Cruz is the voice of reason.

Its also not a gotcha because, as the article says, he has been taking away women's reproductive rights. Specifically the right for women to have abortions. Because y'know, women are the ones who get pregnant and sometimes require abortions. The old sex binary strikes again.

Terf Island remains a better option. Though with stuff like this the Democrats are really pushing for a Trump win. The gender stuff is the big issue which makes the Republicans look sort of sane because the TRAs in the US are so extreme they make the Dems look suspect in other areas.

Difficult to refute Republican conspiracy nonsense when you have the Dems all proclaiming male and female biology is the same. No wonder the polls are showing black and latino voters are drifting right, because they are generally not onboard with biology denial.

It's interesting to think about those phrases, "hormonally female," "male genetalia."
The activism that led to incacerated women being locked in their cells with a man known to be sexually violent would actually want to make that conversation impossible.
Referring to a trans woman's privates as "male genetalia" would not be acceptable in any gender studies department in the world today, and in huge swathes of the humanaties also. According to those on the right side of history, and according to the rules of language that they would impose on all of civic life, this rapist has female genetalia.

So the violence and abuse is enabled, and the ability to name it is taken from victims and anyone who would stand up for them.

Genuine question. If a bloke is pumped full of "female" hormones, does it prevent him getting an erection. Is that what the judge was getting at?

I do hope that every day people come up to this women and ask ‘did you really pit a rapist on a woman’s jail?’, ‘why did you put a rapist in a woman’s jail?’ ‘Are you really so stupid you would lock a rapist up with women’ ‘do you hate women so much you want prisoners talked too?’

That's what's crazy about the whole thing -- in American politics it's either a right to abortion or a right not to be imprisoned with men, Women should have both.

The judge didn't seem especially "talking down to the stupid Republicans", well maybe at first but later it was more of a "bunny in the headlights" stare. And Cruz missed a trick - "if I was the mother" would have made her look even worse.

One of the reasons she put him in a female prison was because he'd not shown any sign of sexual violence in the male prison.

I wonder why he didn't fancy his chances with the other male prisoners? its a complete mystery.
