My thoughts exactly. It's almost as if getting that reaction meant that what was wanted was achieved.

And then fell massively for the next 5 months? I hope everyone involved in the travesty of Richards' appointment as CEO will be stepped down as well.

Tiny income. Perhaps they can't pay their CEO what they want to be paid. Just that and nothing more.

As no-one had ever heard of the charity before, the rush of publicity could only send donations up. The charity's accounts were discussed on MN, and honestly, it's damning if donations only 'doubled' in the week following Richards' appointment.

Perhaps got a better job at La Leche?

It seemed as though the charity was one woman's pet project and had some odd views of what endometriosis was from what I can remember. I remember "men get it too" being said when a TW was appointed.

CEO is normally a paid role.

The charity's accounts for the period in question are not yet available on the Charity Commission's website so it's not yet possible to tell from that source what salary, if any, has been paid.

I assumed it was an unpaid position at the time after I saw the accounts. Richards is an independent business-owner, employing a few people, so my first thought was that 'personal reasons' is code for 'the hours required for the position as CEO are interfering with running my own business'.

As to the "very rare" cases in biological males, the sites I've looked at say between 16 and 20 have ever been recorded.

IANAD, but this whole, men get it, rarely, business: men don't have ovaries. Or Fallopian tubes. Isn't it more, men, can suffer from a vaguely similar issue, but it's not endo? It's just an attempt to muddy the waters once again, isn't it?

Way to exclude all the "individuals" with male reproductive organs not ID as cis men who "in very rare cases" get endometriosis! I'm surprised the CEO wasn't finding this statement deeply transphobic!

It gives a possible explanation for endometriosis in men but doesn't explain how tissue similar to endometrium can occur in a male body. Someone needs to analyse any tissue removed to see what it originally was prior to being, presumably, altered by contact with oestrogen.

Who may well be more at risk than other "individuals with male reproductive organs".

As the site I linked to above says, "The majority of male endometriosis cases are thought to be a consequence of prolonged hormone therapy."

Richards has stepped down as CEO, but hasn't stepped away completely -

"The charity is now in the process of determining Richards’ new role and has not confirmed who is acting as CEO in her stead. "

If this charity is indeed one woman's pet project, she is determined to have Richards stick around. Personally, I suspect Richards has got everything they wanted from the appointment (validation, publicity, 'victimhood'), and sees no reason to actually put any work in.
