If that was really involuntary redundancy then I'm utterly gobsmacked. She had one of the rarest and most valuable skillsets at the BBC combining programme making, broadcasting, and a good facility with science and mathematics.

Looking at the record of those the BBC like to promote and push to the forefront, and pay fortunes to, it actually feels like an insult aimed at the audience.
