I think her story's amazing and I'm unimpressed with the 'thick' comments. But I thought the interview Decca Aitkenhead did with her for the Sunday Times a year or so a go was far more revealing.
As I remember, when DA asked her then about sex and gender and Labour's commitment to self ID (it was before they kind of backtracked) she seemed genuinely blindsided, as if she hadn't even foreseen the question coming up.
She's clearly better advised now but that reaction (to DA) suggests to me that she wasn't listening to people outside of her own immediate circle and she very possibly still isn't, which is troubling from someone expected to become Deputy Prime Minister.
