Times Radio - Matt Chorley, India Knight on JK Rowling

Hi all, I was listening to this podcast the other day. Matt Chorley and India Knight were talking about JK Rowling, along with some bloke from The Times, specifically discussing her comment on India Willoughby cosplaying femininity. Anyone else listening? It was hilarious and infuriating and as always revealing. The gist of it was why was JK Rowling so mean, and why couldn't she just be nice and polite, because that would get her further. It was so .... awful and ignorant! And then India Knight made what she seemed to think was a killer point, that all woman are performing femininity when they apply make-up.. she seemed to have no awareness that that is the POINT. Isn't it? That femininity is always a performance - but that this is not what makes us female. Why are people so stupid about this?!?

India Knight, a nepo baby who got into journalism thanks to her stepfather, wrote a diet book then a few years later wrote an article decrying the diet industry, who stood by her partner when he was convicted of downloading child abuse images.

Dreadful woman.

That's awful. I liked reading Liz Jones' writings about her cats, she seemed very sweet, although quite damaged and I always felt a bit sorry for her. Hope she's alright.

I'm not sure Liz Jones is actually that sweet, but I'd take her over India, the Paedophile Apologist, any day of the week. And I have never talked about anyone, even my worst enemy, in those terms - shows India up for the person she truly is.

I don't really think it's on to berate IK for staying with a violent bully.

No one here needs to take any moral lectures from her or listen to her about safeguarding though, I'm sure you agree.

He's a convicted paedo. She has a disabled daughter who lives (or lived) with them. I can't feel sorry for her. I can't believe she still gets airtime, she's despicable.
