I saw this on Twitter earlier - haven't seen it anywhere else:

It seems that a Mr C Green is taking Mermaids to employment tribunal on 20 March.

The only details I have are the ones on that thread. It seems that C Green may be the son of former CEO Susie Green.

How about the charitable sector where you volunteer for no wages, such is your commitment to the cause

Are you suggesting that there is a difference between "my heart lies in the charitable sector" and "my heart lies in exploiting the charitable sector"?

popebishop · 09/03/2024 22:48

It's the "lies" part!

Today is 20th March. Anything more known about this?

From OP: 'It seems that a Mr C Green is taking Mermaids to employment tribunal on 20 March.'

Might simply be disgruntled employee taking employer to court (nothing to see here)?

If you register with Courtserve (https://www.courtserve.net/), click on Employment Tribunals and then select Leeds Westgate you can in theory download the list of current tribunals in rtf format. However, when I did it I couldn't find the downloaded file - maybe someone else will have better luck.

Is it just in my brain that C. Green (sea green) juxtaposed with mermaids conjures vivid maritime imagery?

Gettingmadderallthetime · 20/03/2024 12:07

Thank you @RoyalCorgi I downloaded the file and cannot find Mermaids or C Green listed in the one which covers Leeds Westgate. So maybe its been deferred, withdrawn or settled?

GoodHeavens99 · 20/03/2024 12:08

I've just had a look on CourtServe, and the claim is for UDL (unfair dismissal).

I read on Twitter earlier that Mermaids had already settled.

Have you got a link? I can't see it.

I wonder if they decided to settle because they couldn't face the publicity.

Nope. And Long Chu always makes me miss Texan bars.

Wtf were the trustees doing when she appointed a student with no accountancy experience as finance officer

GenericMNwoman · 20/03/2024 12:26

Maybe he identified as someone with financial experience.

It appears that Susie’s son Connor worked part time for Mermaids in their finance department.

Ooooo this sounds juicy.
