... let's have an exceptionally dodgy and rather peculiar outlooked male opining on how a violently sexually sadistic killer should be referred to by women and the press?

Or alternatively, fuck that, we could try for some basic common sense and a grip.

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Cathy from Wales was awesome! As PP have said - calm, measured, intelligent and articulate. I was cheering her in my car 🙂👋

pronounsbundlebundle · 27/02/2024 13:21

Did they talk about basic respect for Jorge Martin Carreno and his family or did they - as usual - just fall all over themselves to align with a murderous male and fuck over the victim and his family yet again?

theilltemperedclavecinist · 27/02/2024 13:25

It wasn't allocated much time, which was disappointing. I can't stop thinking about that poor man and his family. He was so beautiful as well (not that that should matter).

Maybe they're still dragging Fae out of the woodwork because they can't get anyone else.

The trans man and Luke (I think?) had nothing at all to contribute and showed they had the critical thinking skills of a gnat.

The journalism lecturer sounded promising at the start but went all pronouny on us, so she was a disappointment.

I imagine the lecturer is trying to avoid being burnt at the stake for heresy by her students.

Little reminder of Fae’s priorities https://www.theregister.com/2009/01/24/extreme_pron_law_live/

And here is the link to the advice on clearing your hard drive which is broken in the article. https://www.backlash.org.uk/legal-advice/cleaning-your-disks/

Interesting articles. Always worth uploading to internet archive at archive.org- wouldn't want these important pieces lost to the world.....

I caught the start but feeding my toddler so couldn't listen too hard (not good for my blood pressure) but from the bits I heard extraordinary that JV didn't question "Janes" ridiculous arguments - "no one really counts which sex commits which crimes, who cares?" .... etc etc but as JV is fairly well known on this board for his bias - although to be fair Trans/GC does come up a fair bit on his radio show.

Also absolutely shocked and saddened at the start when describing Scarlets crimes JV seemed more shocked about the cat than the actual human being who was murdered. Both are shocking an incredibly cruel, but JV seemed to find the killing of the cat more distasteful

JFae appeared a little unclear as to what was being reported- Jeremy had to clarify!
And JF chair of Trans Media Watch?!?!?!
Cathy from Wales was great and respectfully acknowledged the victim
JFae seemed more concerned about the cat than the murder victim

Froodwithatowel · 27/02/2024 13:42

"no one really counts which sex commits which crimes, who cares?"

And yet Fae is so desperate that people don't record crime by sex, because the reality of this is such a major problem to Faesself and being called a 'woman', that Fae's on radio frantically telling people how little Fae cares.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yes I do wonder if all this obfuscation will backfire in the end. The back and forth is kind of planting the idea that transgender women are particularly violent and sadistic. Wouldn't have been an issue if they just called him a man in the first place.

Had to stop listening. I wonder if I took to the streets today and asked everyone I came across what sex a ‘transgender woman’ was born as, they’d all say female.
Jeremy, language is important!

Yes exactly. So who decided on these descriptions? Yes the twaw community I’m sure.

Because factually a man who ‘is transitioning’ should be a ‘trans man’ - a man transitioning to be ‘a woman’.

But of course that doesn’t work for twaw people. They need to steal ‘women’ ‘woman’ from women too. And wouldn’t you know, it is working a fcking treat for those men.

One of many headlines it doesn’t quite have the same effect if it was ‘ Rapist trans man Isla Bryson’ does it. Then it’s just a plain old male rapist story. Old news.

https://www.reuters.com/world/uk/rapist-uk-trans-woman-jailed-eight-years-2023-02-28/

I wonder if women could start reclaiming women / woman. Calling all male trans rapists (etc) trans men, which they are. As well as the usual reclaim of woman. To mean, woman.

Propertylover · 27/02/2024 14:57

Cathy was excellent.

Chewbecca · 27/02/2024 15:07

Fae also seemed to be more concerned about the cat than the poor murdered man too who barely gets a mention. I love cats but the man being second comment is so off, perhaps it is because he was not English?

Hoorah for Cathy.

BreatheAndFocus · 27/02/2024 12:56

Is Fae the “eggshell skulls” guy? (Silly women and their fragile skulls)

Yep!

And made the comment at the start of covid that the reason women were not dying due to covid was that they were not out there working in people facing roles…. I kid you not. Fae is a vile misogynist.

Froodwithatowel · 27/02/2024 15:19

It is bizarre how many of the leading proponents of this ideology are

a) those of really quite staggeringly dodgy history sexually and behaviourally

b) are out and proud haters of women

lonelywater · 27/02/2024 15:22

just serves to reinforce the notion that the Kool aid gang are just nutters. I remember watching that car crash last year with Helen Joyce, some other bloke, Peter Tatchell and Freda Wallace. Helen must have been thinking "is this really the best you have got?-some peado apologist and a foul mouthed drunk?". No wonder they clung onto "no debate", it's all you have if your arguments are either non existent or complete bollocks.

Chrysanthemum5 · 27/02/2024 15:24

Jane seemed more upset by the murder of the cat than the murder of the human

Chrysanthemum5 · 27/02/2024 15:25

And that being bullied for being transgender may be a mitigating factor in violence. Nice of Jane to show us all how Jane thinks

b) - yes, it's astonishing that men who hate women sometimes want to be one!

LizzieSiddal · 27/02/2024 15:45

I started listening as Cathy was speaking and she was blooming magnificent!

We then had a man phoning in to say he didn’t know what all the fuss was about. I thought- Ok mate, fuck off then and leave it to us, because we are going to make a big old “fuss”.

wantmorenow · 27/02/2024 15:50

I've met Cathy a few times - she is indeed awesome and very active in the fight against the erosion of women's rights.

BackCats · 27/02/2024 16:10

This angered me that Fae was speaking to JV, then the journalism lecturer who dutifully fudged the English language out of respect for a sadistic and violent man spoke only to JV, and then when Cathy comes along to speak some sense - and as a long-serving police officer, I would argue had more entitlement to the reverential kid-glove treatment than the previous guests, she is repeatedly interrupted and challenged by clueless, random people who JV feels fit to invite in.

It also feels very ‘us and them’ - three relatively posh-sounding people speaking, then the gates are opened to those with regional accents who have to be heard at the same time. It felt disrespectful to Cathy’s stature and as though this format was contrived to wear her down.

Good for you Cathy for not taking any crap.

It sounds as if he was a beautiful human in all senses of the word from what I've read when there's a rare case of a newspaper story giving him a few lines.

It's a travesty his family have been forced to 'respect' his fantasy female pronouns - they should be free to use the words they want about Jorge's murderer.

It makes a joke of journalism and the courts when so basic a lie is being given a free pass. If I called Blake 'she' in court I'd be lying - has no-one told the judge you're not supposed to do that? Why isn't that ever brought up. It's upside down Orwellian clown world.

TWETMIRF · 27/02/2024 17:18

I wonder if he brought his knitting or whether that's just for when he can be seen womaning

SensibleJaneAndrews · 27/02/2024 17:28
