Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Schools Guidance Consultation closes 12 of March - can we collate ideas for responding?

Hi All,

I'm concerned people (including myself!) may lost track of time and forget to respond to the schools guidance. I thought it would be useful to create a thread collating and discussing ideas for responding. I know there are still some response guides to come from SSA and Sex Matters. I'm posting in a rush right now but I will be back with any links I can find. This is so important as all the Usual Suspects will be responding, and many Unions, charities, MATs and individual schools are currently saying this is only draft guidance so can and should be ignored. We need to ensure our voices are heard.

If you've still to complete this it's worth pointing out that schools are required to bne politically impartial. If they followed that through, NONE of these groups pushing sex change for children, the removal of safeguarding, mangling language etc would ever have been allowed to gaslight children in this way.

Stonewall and all the other trans lobby groups need to be removed asap from being allowed to influence schools and asking that the guidance reminds schools of the legal requirement for political impartiality is one way to achieve this.

Sorry I had a wobble about the previous post.

I've responded to the consultation, thanks very much to Transgender Trend for providing a fab template to base my response on. Managed to get a bit about WPATH in too.

I know I’ll be sending mine in just before midnight - and it’ll take me hours to fill out. I find it quite daunting but know it needs to be done. If loads of children are filling it out (as they’re being encouraged to by various groups like Stonewall) I’m sure I can manage it.

Done! Another last minuter here. Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good (enough)

ArabellaScott · 12/03/2024 16:13

Okay! 18 pages to read. Let's go.

JanesLittleGirl · 12/03/2024 16:37

Hazycoffeek · 12/03/2024 16:38

De lurking to say thanks for the reminder and I’ve submitted my response.

Today I did something really important for my daughter. I submitted a response to this.

To all the wonderful women of Mumsnet, thank you. Because of you, I've learned so much about this and you've spurred me on to read numerous books and articles about protecting our rights. I hope we can make changes to keep all of us and our children safe.

Humanslug · 13/03/2024 00:06

I hit submit as the clock struck 00.00 - I got a receipt to say they’ve received it so I assume it went through in the nick of time. It wasn’t as detailed as I’d have liked but I think I got my main points across.

ArabellaScott · 13/03/2024 07:04

Well done all you last minuters!
