A group of Sheffield women objected to a digital billboard campaign this morning trying to normalise gender identity in children. They dropped their objection from the main roundabout in the city.

Good on them.

Apart from the content, it’s a very strange idea. Take a road sign and display it incorrectly, in a place that doesn’t look like it’s outside a school. Is that normally an advertising billboard? So now it’s very confusing. I would understand if you glanced at that and thought ‘shit a school do I need to brake? I’m way over 20mph’. Which is potentially quite dangerous at a fast-moving roundabout.

And why do people need to know Sheffield schools are becoming more LGBT inclusive (whatever that means) on the road? Do we also need to know they’ve introduced vegan lunch options in schools in the area whilst we’re joining the motorway?

Joking aside, well done.

Well done those women. Spelling out what is being sold to children about their bodies being wrong and transitioning being the solution is so important. This should have no place in schools

A lobby group with considerable funds (and local govts?) to create a professionally designed campaign in busy areas on expensive billboards behind them on the one side working to medicalise children.

Local grassroots mums with their homemade sign worried about children being confused and learning to hate their bodies. Such a hard battle.
