I am from the area, and heard this on the radio today.
I immediately thought: I bet this is not a woman

PickAChew · 16/01/2024 23:18

I bet Abbi has some dashing pink leggings.

Aye and the headline in the Chronicle still says "woman" (and the comments have been disabled)

FFS

Eloquent and impressively succinct. Your comment is what so many feel I think.

Newspaper coverage from yesterday

extract

Taylor, of Haymarket Walk, South Shields, South Tyneside, pleaded not guilty to depositing controlled waste, namely bags of nappies containing human waste, at one nursery, between October 1 2022 and December 23 2022, and theft of a roll of clinical waste from the same establishment on December 23 2022.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to depositing similar controlled waste, between October 1, 2022 and May 2, 2023, at a second nursery. They denied depositing similar waste, between December 5, 2022 and November 15, 2023, at a third, where she also denied damaging milk bottles and a fire escape.

Taylor pleaded not guilty to breach of a criminal behaviour order, between October 1, 2022 and November 30, 2023, imposed by Nottinghamshire Magistrates' court in April last year, by being within 10 metres of a nursery and or removing items from a waste container.

The defendant also denied causing a public nuisance between October 1, 2022 and November 30, 2023.

Wonder what Kate osbourne's thoughts are on this as it's near her constituency. 🤔

BubbleBubbleBubbleBubblePop · 17/01/2024 09:13

I work in a forensic mental health unit and this behaviour would be classed as shocking even amongst our patient base who have carried out some depraved acts.

Anisette · 17/01/2024 09:28

Really the issue of this person's sex is irrelevant, given how very mentally ill they clearly are.

TinderTime · 17/01/2024 09:37

Have they changed the headline. Doesn't mention woman in the link at my end. It says defendant. Defendant accused of dumping soiled adult nappies at nurseries appears in court

HoneyButterPopcorn · 17/01/2024 09:38

Who is his lawyer playing along? Isn’t it his job to advise this person? To recommend a good psychologist - not cry that this lovely lady just misunderstood and a bit stressed?

I disagree. Sex crimes are almost uniquely male.

The number of sex offenders and fetishists who now identify as women will make it look a lot less like that.

These are not our crimes.

My god I feel so sorry for the nursery workers, they have a really hard job for low pay as it is.

I didn't read all the articles linked (thank you for the links) but I'm not clear on whether this man did all this in the daytime, with kids around?? Wouldn't that be the bigger crime (exposing small children to indecent acts) than the criminal damage and waste tipping?

If I were a mum at that nursery, I'd be tempted to some kind of vigilante justice. I hope he gets lots of jail time but I fear he won't

He started off dumping the nappies overnight, then moved to doing so before opening time, so he could see the manager and staff clearing up.

That wasn't giving him enough of a rush, so he broke in and smeared his excrement onto clean baby bottles. That's what the charge of criminal damage relates to.

Mumoftwo1312 · 17/01/2024 11:23

He actually broke into the nursery! I feel like the articles should have led with that...!!! I'll be watching out for the sentencing with interest

NeighbourhoodWatchPotholeDivision · 17/01/2024 11:34

Me too. At the first hearing he was charged with outraging public decency, ‘by behaving in an indecent manner, namely by being inside a bin containing the waste of children, including with soiled nappies and disclosed garments and interacting with the soiled nappies in sight of the public' but that charge seems to have been dropped.

In February 2023, the manager reported finding an unknown man next to the bin, who ran off. That charge suggests to me that he began ferreting around in the bin during day time hours, when there were people to see him interacting with the nappies.

I can't know what he'd have done next if not caught, but I think we can imagine.

PaterPower · 17/01/2024 12:27

The poor staff (at all three nurseries). Forget the cleanups, which would have been bad enough to deal with. The nursery workers would have had weeks of worrying about who was lurking around the building at night and whether they or the infants were at risk of physical harm.

He’s not been convicted yet but, if it’s proven he did all this, I hope his sentence actually reflects the fear he’ll have put these women through… although I fear he’ll just be given another asbo / control order to ignore.

🤢 there are some very sick people around. Imagine being his mum.

Imagine him anywhere near your child.
