Podcast for schools on 'Trans Euphoria' in children

I've some across this podcast on twitter. It's by a male trans educational psychologist ,and seems to be a whole series for other educational psychologists and schools promoting gender ideology.

I've only listened to a bit of a couple of them so far, it seems to be using the concept of gender identity and linking to this to lots of 'research' and 'evidence.'

I'm going to try to listen to a bit more if I can bare it. I'm concerned that psychologists in schools are so openly promoting this dangerous nonsense.

Has anyone else come across this?

As an 'older retired EP' I agree with everything you've written. I specialised for 30 years in autism and although a number of young people over the years wished to change gender we always did watchful waiting and attempted to give them good experiences as the sex they were. Only one young man went through gender change in all my time. Many had such impoverished life experiences because of sensory or behavioural issues the needed specialist staff and environments. I had some of my best experiences working in a specialist residential college. I also taught relationships and sex education here as of course old fashioned EPs are qualified teachers. This group input was far better than individual therapy as the students has so many questions which all benefitted from hearing and it was a social experience.
I have written about this in Educational Psychology Perspectives on Supporting Young Autistic People. I have worked with transgender colleagues over the years as I have lectured widely and all have supported my approach.

"Euphoria" seems like a pretty intense, extreme reaction to the kinds of things people report experiencing "trans euphoria" from. Assuming people are telling the truth, and also that by "euphoria" they mean the same thing the rest of us mean (so, not relief, delight, satisfaction, comfort, joy, titillation or pleasure, but actual euphoria) then it doesn't exactly sound like a proportionate reaction to the situations they describe. Experiencing euphoria isn't always something that's ultimately a good thing — I'm supposed to go to the doctor if I get too much unjustified euphoria Grin

Here’s Cora on a protrans podcast criticising the Cass Review.

Thanks for the bump and it turns out Cora Sargeant is still doing his thing promoting trans ideology in schools!

Here he is recently with another educational psychologist talking about why the new Keeping Children Safe in Education proposals are terrible for 'trans kids'.

Cora is also brought in by training courses to train EPs on this topic because of his 'expertise'.

Keep your kids away from psychologists. (I am a psychologist).

Thanks for rebumping a 2 year thread so I could update on Cora Sargeant's dangerous practice andinfluence.

These people are horrific protect your children tell them what they are being told is garbage and tell them listen, dont react, just tell mum and dad then mom and dad expose the bs to protect your children. ---- It does appear that someone in mumsnet doesnt understand free speech and a fairy recent series of decisions in the UK High Court and unfortunately there are people who thumb their nose at UK Law and the decisions of the High Court reinforcing those rights.

What a weird discussion. Referencing an obscure conference speech in the 90s regarding the rarity of organisations with advice on how to make your child turn out gay… and how there are echoes of this now with trans issues

except thats not true - all our National institutions have had a dabble in promoting gender ideology over the last 15-20 years…. And people aren’t thinking it’s worked out well

apart from anything - trying to turn someone gay would surely be conversion therapy and illegal?

and obviously problematic for evolution and continuation of the human species - which is ultimately the only reason we mammals exist even though we aspire to higher purpose

And a striking lack of awareness of the minds of others with the video background… psychologist? Really?!

A colleague was at a conference and spoke to a delegate who presented a poster. The research found very few experiences of transphobia were reported by the trans participants. CS was one of the examiners and interrogated the validity of the research design and analysis (fair enough, this is what examiners should do). The researcher defended this well. Despite this, a post viva amendment was to add a section to the discussion chapter about how the participants were probably failing to notice the transphobia they were victims of due to internalised heteronormativity and not spotting the transphobia they were subjected to.

Apparently, the researcher presenting the poster was very ‘straight down the line’ when sharing the above. The information about the viva came from my colleague asking questions about reactions to the findings. The researcher was impressive in their objectivity/ professionalism, simply reporting different responses - and didn’t even mention who the examiner was.

The way the story was told to me gave 1984 vibes.

Now he's talking about when he wears a 'cute' outfit he can float around on a euphoric high all day.

When I wear a nice outfit I look in the mirror and think 'nice' and then get on with day. But I'm a mere women not a TW.

He talks like an AGP man who is getting kicks from making everyone comply with his cosplay and excited with the idea he is 'cute'/ sexually interesting.

He also talks about his girlfriend and their son and seems to have transitioned after the birth of the son.

He is training psychologists who work in schools and who work with 'trans' kids. He is being promoted as the expert in the EP world.

And no one is questioing it,
It's insane.

This is a good example of how much damage just one activist/fetishist can do. Would be interested in hearing how we can complain about this. School Governors would be a start, but there should be clear guidance coming from further up the line.

The book "Love in Exile" by Shon Faye is on the right of the photo. Among other naïve thinking, Shon is an advocate of closing prisons, without any plan for dealing with the repercussions.

I heard a podcast where SF was talking about their book as a publicity/marketing thing. SF was bemoaning that no one markets at single trans people and services are designed for couples. No shit Shon - if you turn yourself into the most marginalised then which marketeer will be spending on you? The medical companies already spent their marketing money on getting you into your cosmetically altered state - they aren’t interested in after sales…

I am always rather confused by the logic of the anti-carceralists. I am not sure what they think will happen.
