Men can get pregnant - heathline.com

So I was reading through health site named above for advice on eating during pregnancy and as the next topic was ‘can men get pregnant?’

this quote in the article actually annoyed me very much:

’As Kaci points out, “There’s nothing inherently feminine or womanly about conception, pregnancy, or delivery. No body part, nor bodily function, is inherently gendered. If your body can gestate a fetus, and that’s something you happen to want — then it’s for you, too.”

the fact that pregnancy etc is now being basically stripped from women too is concerning! Am I being unreasonable???

And people wonder why kids are growing up absolutely confused and willing to accept blatant lies and propaganda.

They are being fed this shit for a REASON.

Chersfrozenface · 05/01/2024 10:16

The quote
“There’s nothing inherently feminine or womanly about conception, pregnancy, or delivery. No body part, nor bodily function, is inherently gendered. If your body can gestate a fetus, and that’s something you happen to want — then it’s for you, too.”

Is aimed at transmen.

"Yes, you have the plumbing to gestate and birth a baby, but that doesn't mean you're a woman - you're still a man, dude!"

ErrolTheDragon · 05/01/2024 10:33

Well, obviously it's aimed at transmen.
But it's hugely problematic to reify 'gender' and apparently pretend sex isn't fundamental or in any way important. It's problematic to miss the fact that the 'gendering' of societies - to the detriment of both sexes but mainly women - is because of human sexual dimorphism.

What does the word 'womanly' mean, ffs, if it's absolutely nothing to do with sex and reproduction? How you look? A 'feeling'? Hmm

SabrinaThwaite · 05/01/2024 10:35

There are also emerging technologies that may make it possible for AMAB individuals to carry a child.

JFC. We really are entering Frankenstein territory.

viques · 05/01/2024 10:38

But if no body part is “inherently gendered” then why go to the pain and expense of surgical intervention? Why take hormones and other chemicals to induce or reduce hair growth? Why spend the rest of your life caring for body parts that have been grafted , or radically altered but which remain essentially without any practical function? If no body part is inherently gendered then there would be no need to change any body part if you want to change your sex (as our old friends Isla Blair , Eddie Izzard, and Pip Bunce have so graphically yet unsuccessfully attempted to demonstrate ).

The truth - which every human being on the planet knows - is that the physical differences in male and female bodies are inherently gendered, in the true sense of the word. As of course is every single cell of a persons body.

I've yet to see actual clear evidence of this from a reputable source that does not have a vested interest in promoting gender bollocks.

"Scientists" have been saying this for DECADES and they are apparently no further forward.
If it even got past ethics committees, they don't even fully know how a female body supports a pregnancy and how the complex interplay of hormones at JUST the right time in pregnancy happens and what triggers it. There's no way they can get a man to carry a child when they can't even figure out how to help infertile women in a lot of cases.

And IF that day ever actually happens.............bring on the huge fucking asteroid ASAP.

InAPickle12345 · 05/01/2024 14:33

Jesus fucking Christ, I'm actually so sick of this shit. When is it going to end... there does seem to be an increasing push back on this bullshit but do we think this is ever going to end or is this 'the new norm' that women need to just put up with their inherently female life experiences being completely taken the piss out of by fucking men and trans activists spewing this utter, utter bollox?

I mean: 'There’s nothing inherently feminine or womanly about conception, pregnancy, or delivery.'

ARE YOU FUCKING JOKING ME?

This has actually given me the rage, I'm so fed up with it.

HootyMcBooby · 05/01/2024 14:39

Just console yourself with the fact that MOST of the population don't believe this bullshit.
And most of those who SAY they do are just doing so to save their careers, a relationship with a brainwashed friend or loved one, or to save hassle.

That leaves a tiny percent who are legitimately bonkers.

Most people are not total fucking nutbars. At least I hope so.

That is a consolation BUT why do the majority of people need to pretend this shit makes sense, or purely not feel able to speak up for fear of backlash, for the sake of the tiny minority of these people that are IMO clearly suffering from mental health issues.

I'm not even that old, I think I'm a pretty inclusive, understanding person and absolutely support the LGB community unequivocally, but I honestly just despair at this bullshit and I can't believe my son has to grow up in a world where this shit is being widely accepted.

GothConversionTherapy · 05/01/2024 14:45

That website was never legit anyways, fucking outrageous though. Taking away what little women have.

MadamVastra · 05/01/2024 14:47

Kaci talking cack what a surprise

EdgeOfACoin · 05/01/2024 14:50

I avoid all American health websites on this topic (or sometimes set my Google settings so they only show me webpages from 2016 or earlier).

They do my head in.

StephanieSuperpowers · 05/01/2024 14:57

The level of capture over there seems incredible. You're either a crazy trumpist or enchanted by this lunatic movement. On the face of it, there doesn't seem to be any middle ground.

GothConversionTherapy · 05/01/2024 14:59

@StephanieSuperpowers there definitely is, they just keep quiet and are waiting for it to blow over.

Edited to specify, Democrats who are GC

StephanieSuperpowers · 05/01/2024 15:02

I'm sure there must be, obviously I'm speaking from a position of vast ignorance, but even when I read the comments on articles in magazines like Slate (they seem to be fairly normal left wing people in general), they just seem so united in agreement and utterly, utterly convinced.

DuesToTheDirt · 05/01/2024 15:21

’As Kaci points out, “There’s nothing inherently feminine or womanly about conception, pregnancy, or delivery.

Well I think this is partly right. Conception, pregnancy and delivery are "womanly", i.e. only women can do them, but I'm not sure any of them are at all "feminine", which has connotations of lipstick, long hair, elegant skirts, girly prettiness... doesn't describe my experience of delivery! (Or much of my life, come to that.)

Kids will believe what they are told. Kids are credulous.

We only have a bulwark against the fucking madness because the majority of people were raised and educated before the 'queering' of education, science, biology.

Upcoming generations are being taught this as actual fact.

Remember how kids used to believe you couldn't get pregnant if you were standing up, or on your period, etc? That was nothing. We are going back to Dark Ages levels of understanding of the world.

If kids believe that men can get pregnant, how the fuck are we going to explain pregnancy, reproduction, safe sex to them?

turbonerd · 05/01/2024 16:39

It is just so silly. Every time a «MAN» has given birth, it has actually been a woman with a beard. I can’t get overly excited about that.

I realise that for some it may appear transfobic of me to say that pregnant and birthing transmen are women with beards, but they are!
No offence intended etc.

I recently bingewatched The Good Doctor, and the episodes about transpeople were all about how an intrinsically sexed biological ability all of a sudden wasn’t that because of internal feelings. I sighed at the telly and fast forwarded through the whole thing. It was embarrassing and I don’t think it will age well at all.

No. Pregnancy and giving birth is not something men can do. It is not a feature of the male biology. So if you can gestate a featus you are a woman, and a female one at that.

I hope they’ll come to their senses soon.

We have a first case in Norway now about a young man identifying as a woman who killed his partner.
No Word yet on which prison he may go to. Norway sadly has a relatively high proportion of dv and murders in domestic relationships, but how this is recorded will certainly skew the data. As always these killings are primarily carried out by men. And this is a young man who killed his male partner in a fit of rage. NOT a woman.

ErrolTheDragon · 05/01/2024 17:05

I honestly don't think most kids are so credulous as to not actually understand the difference between a male and a female.

PurpleBugz · 05/01/2024 17:21

That makes me angry as it has done others.

Although I do agree having a baby isn't dependent on your gender. Because it depends on your SEX.

turbonerd · 05/01/2024 18:13

ArabellaScott · 05/01/2024 17:15

If a child under seven is taught there are 'a hundred genders' and that it's possible to change sex, there's a strong chance they will believe it.

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/parents-condemn-bbc-educational-film-describing-100-gender-identities-396092vl8

I know it is a serious matter.
But honestly, how can that person (because I simply mustn’t presume the gender!) talk about 100 genders with a straight face 😝

It’s like how many angels can dance on the head of a pin, it is utterly ludicrous.

I agree with the lady often quoted here that says if you actually believe TWAW then I can’t believe a Word you’re saying. Because if you can lie about something so fundamental then you can lie about anything.

The kids are questioning the bullshit, though.
And many are «detransitioning» (only done social, not medical «transition») and seeing through the crap.
It makes me feel very sorry for the dysphoric people who have been thrown under the bus by these nutjobs. A travesty all round.

Fizbosshoes · 05/01/2024 18:31

This is literally basic biology
Men and Woman have different reproductive organs....is this not going to be taught in school any more for fear of offending?

Agree with pp on page 1 I can't get my head around someone insisting they have felt they were born into the wrong body, have hormone therapy and potentially surgical procedures because they feel they are definitely male.....but then want to get pregnant and give birth which is something only women can do

TreesWelliesKnees · 05/01/2024 18:34

'To our knowledge, there has not yet been a case of pregnancy in an AMAB individual'.

No fucking kidding!
