Or half full depending on your take.

Mulvaney said it was 'amazing' to be recognized by Forbes, adding: 'I think I am becoming a bit of a businesswoman.
'As much as I love the creative side, I love getting smarter: I want to know everything, and how it all works. Of course being in front of the camera, but I love the idea of producing and I think, why not learn it all.'

I'm loving they had a VIP waiting list for when it sold out.

Oh dear. How sad. Never mind.

They do have an impact on women's lives. They are being used to mass market males being females because of a feeling in their head.

Which is the ultimate in gender stereotyping and deeply regressive.

Mulvaney has also been heavily courted and promoted by the Biden Administration. This has included a trip to the White House and meeting Biden himself.

Ironically this plays to Republican sentiments so could directly affect me too - given there is an election coming. From that point of view the Democratic party seeing that Mulvaney can't fill a room it might be beneficial to their election chances to grasp it's not a vote winner even amongst the student population. I am very concerned about the chances of Trump winning...

So to say Mulvaney has 'no effect on my life whatsoever' is at best extremely ignorant and naive and at worst totally disingenuous gaslighting to tell women to shut up and suck up males who mock them and reduce them to fluffy pink brainless girlies.

Hear hear.

Men dressing as women are getting to meet the leader of the free world, and period product companies running scared of challenges from period knickers and an ageing population are desperately marketing their products at 'people who have periods'.

I'm glad Dylan M is tanking. Not because I have a personal animus towards him, but for what he has engendered and what he represents.

I was offered free seat filler tickets the other day to a talk dear Eddie I'm a Laydee Izzard is giving at BFI. Apparently he can no longer fill a central London venue. i wonder why.

Oh dear. The Labour party should take note. I think it might have escaped their notice that they haven't yet gained power and can't force us all into right-think via totalitarian control (yet).

pronounsbundlebundle · 07/12/2023 11:59

@RedToothBrush has an excellent point about Trump and Democratic politicians supporting Mulvaney (etc) driving people to vote Trump.

Like in the UK, I suspect for many in the US it's which is the least worst, not who's the best to vote for. Outside of those who've picked a 'team' to the death no matter how bonkers anything they do is, a lot of Americans I suspect are preparing to hold their nose and vote least worst.

pronounsbundlebundle · 07/12/2023 12:00

I've never believed Mulvaney really believes in what he's saying - he just wants attention, if you see any of the videos of him before transition, it's clear he's desperate for it.

I hope for his sake he hasn't irreversibly modified critical (to health and wellbeing) parts of his anatomy.

Ooooo interesting!

Did you go or did you have something more important to do like pick up the autumn leaves from your garden with a pin?

The leaves are now in neat piles and the pin back in its cushion.

Yes. And evidently is now seeing that particular grift petering out so is angling for parts in thee-ayter.

Sponsorship and advertising gigs getting a bit sparse, perhaps.

WatchingBoat · 07/12/2023 12:52

I don’t think Dylan set out to be nasty or malicious or misogynistic. I just think they’re a theatre kid - jazz-hands a-go-go, full of ultra camp glitz who launched themselves into this crazy ‘girl’ voyage without a shred of self-awareness other than a desire to be super-famous and get to dress up and be done up to the nines. Hugely and unforgiveably unaware of the offence they may cause outside of their adoring rainbow, drag-scene clique.

Dont get me wrong, they enraged me with their insulting stereotypes - but I think they thought they were being comedic most of the time - which made their indulgence by Biden and Forbes an outrageous insult to women.

The people that pandered to Dylan worry me more to be honest. And I hate the rednecks who gun for Dylan because they themselves are misogynistic homophobes and hate anyone who steps outside of stereotypical masculine behaviours.

I hope Dylan goes back to being a theatre kid. They obviously love that world but please forget about schooling the world on being a ‘woman’ - and please don’t hold them up as anyone other than a player in the glitzy, vacuous world of fashion.

Datun · 07/12/2023 12:54

Mulvaney and their fluffy, vapid message seems dated even in this short, but escalated by social media, time scale.

Yes it's a bit bizarre, isn't it?

Outraged and despairing as I was over what appeared to be his complete acceptance, with people embracing his 'giggling at tampons and Barbie pouch' nonsense, I can almost feel, in real time, that he's just tipped, irrevocably, into passé.

Like being 16, and knowing, indisputably, that the day after you bought it, that top just went out of fashion.

DreamTheMoors · 07/12/2023 03:17

Why are you gloating over someone you don’t know, will never meet and who has absolutely no effect on your life whatsoever?

Whomever it may be, that seems a bit cruel.

given who Mulvaney is and where they were speaking - I'm going to gloat. A Lot. Riley Gaines (sp?) is justifiably laughing on twitter.

Oddly enough I agree with this view, I do think it cruel. Mulvaney has no traction with me and I dislike humiliating people, even people I do not like.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Brefugee · 07/12/2023 13:23

He has been taking the piss out of womanhood and you don't feel that's insulting enough to have a little gloat that Dylan had a half full event? a little gloat that (unless he regularly googles his own name - waves to Dylan - which he probably does, tbh, he won't even see?

He's earning millions, i read, so he's not missing out. Unlike the women swimmers at the university the talk was at. Unlike the women who could have been the "face of" bud light or nike women's sportswear.

SuperGreens · 07/12/2023 13:36

Oh how sad, and its Panto time of the year and everything.

FarEast · 07/12/2023 14:24

Have people forgotten Mulvaney’s sexist woman- face “Days of Girlhood” ?

How utterly insulting to real girls and women that was? And that he was taken seriously as a spokesperson for women by some very public leaders who should know better?

I think he’s also had “feminising” facial surgery which demonstrates he has no idea what it’s actually like growing up asa girl.

FarEast · 07/12/2023 14:27

But there’s always a silver lining! Mulvaney’s clowning gave us Days of Boyhood on YouTube by the wonderful daughter of an amazing poster here.

As I’m a post-menopausal cervix owner, I can’t remember the posters name or that of her DD. But search YouTube. She’s brilliant.

It's the go-to shill for so many mediocre men. A bloke who played cricket for Kent had a batting average of 5 then grew his hair longer, called himself Maxine, played in the women's team and had a batting average of over 100, became their Woman Player of the Year about 3 or 4 years ago. Just one of the thousands of examples of such brass-necked, delusional misogyny. Very heartening to see the tide turning.

Why do you say someone who has absolutely no effect on my life whatsoever?

Those like Mulvaney have a huge impact on my life, on the lives of women and girls in general, and it’s a very negative impact. Male people claiming to be women causes direct harm to female people. It’s not ok.

Of course we’re going to be happy when someone who’s a major player in (what I see as) a form of structural abuse by male people of female people gets a less than rapturous reception.

This person has been feted by the White House, Forbes, female celebrities and - really worryingly - a huge number of young women and girls, blind to the misogyny in Mulvaney’s performance.

Of course we’re going to see it as a positive when apparently most of the female students at this university (with its own dreadful record of misogyny in women’s collegiate sports) weren’t interested in fawning over this wannabe, or just couldn’t be bothered to turn up.

It’s genuinely great news. 🥳🥳🥳

Well watching this gangly gurning grifting narcissist spend the last 18 momths or so publicly chronically his 'journey into girlhood' which seems to largely comprise of wearong shit makeup whike stumbling about in heels and squealing like an excited 6 year old girl as he hoovers up various clothing sponsorships and awards at the expense of actual women all the while the fawning right on media collectively circle jerk themselves into a blind stupor is enough to feel a certain sense of schadenfreude when his star starts to fade.

Abhannmor · 07/12/2023 15:45

Reality comes crashing in. That's when you remember that only 8% of the world population is on Twitter. Maybe 15% - 20 % in the USA 🇺🇸. But then you should subtract the % who have either not heard of him or find him very annoying. Still , he's had a good run.
He could try being Born Again? Tour the mega churches of the Deep South. It's a living.

Fabulous rant @TheCadoganArms

And all true. Although I note we still have limits to speaking truth in here. What a it Tony Benn used to say? To find out who's in power, look at whom you're not allowed to criticise.
