Trans harassment case thrown out by tribunal

Common sense prevails this time but how do these ridiculous grievances ever get as far as they do?

Unless there’s huge gaps in the story, it’s absolutely plain to anyone that there’s nothing to see here.

Trans woman's harassment case against the local authority thrown out

Mandie Monroe caused 'confusion' soon after joining the authority because her name on the rota was Mandie but her name on her email said Andy.

Sounds like the manager was just trying to clear up confusion so that other staff members felt like they were getting name and pronouns right.

What a shame the manager was subjected to a court case. I cannot imagine the stress this would have caused them and their family.

I can imagine there were a lot of whispers in the staff room with people asking the manager wtf are we supposed to call them?

The manager takes one for the team and politely asks the question and gets accused of transphobia and harassment. Seriously years types make it impossible for people who really do suffer bullying and prejudice to get heard because they’re so busy causing drama for attention and a payout

Mandie with an ie. How cute.

Honestly look at the state of them.

State of HIM. But yes, rough as old boots.

Grimchmas · 05/12/2023 23:28

Just trying not to get my comments deleted @SunnieShine - I've had a few that i thought were with MN FWR rules deleted recently 🙃

@Grimchmas @shebathequeenof @SunnieShine No! Your comments are not ok. Play the ball, not the player. Personal attacks based on looks are not acceptable. Please don't.

@shebathequeenof calling someone a thing is not ok, and will get you deleted should someone report it.
Transphobia is not acceptable. We can honestly say that there is very little on MN, and if there were we could lose the right to discuss sex based rights as a backlash

Soontobe60 · 06/12/2023 06:58

@shebathequeenof
”that thing” is an awful comment to make about a person - even a person with a fetish / mental health issue / delusion.
We all know people can’t change sex, that men often look foolish trying to dress as a woman, that AGPs exist. We don’t need to stoop to the gutter to get our point across.

BezMills · 06/12/2023 07:04

Yes, this person is a chancer, and rightly was bunged out of court.

Fordian · 06/12/2023 15:22

I don't think they realise how this sort of stuff 'peaks' people; everyday people who probably, like 30 odd % of the population are just discovering that a transwoman is a man... who go 'Hang on..'

MsFogi · 06/12/2023 16:52

So part time cross dressers can pursue that hobby in work?? I sometimes like having a loud sing and dance around my kitchen - should my employer be supporting me to do this in the open plan office at work?

Cancelledcurio · 06/12/2023 17:00

@pronounsbundlebundle @PurpleSparkledPixie well exactly! It is really concerning isn't it? So many vulnerable peoe out there, desperate for a decent place to live or even a decent roof over their heads for the night and this person potentially makes these kind of decisions!

BadSkiingMum · 06/12/2023 17:10

These conversations happened within about ten days of the person in question starting work.

Surely that’s a pretty normal timeframe to still be working out a new employee’s needs/requirements?

Glad the tribunal saw sense.

LarkLane · 06/12/2023 17:15

I feel quite sorry for the manager. All she asked was what name the complainant wanted work colleagues to use in a genuine attempt to be kind.

I see that the disability and whistleblower claims also were thrown out, another untrue load of bollocks.

Probably was hoping for a big pay out before the hearing. It seems to be quite the fashion these days amongst some people, doesn't it?

Yet another vexatious litigant booted out. What a con merchant.

BezMills · 06/12/2023 17:49

Yeah I think they were looking for A Great Payday

OneMorePlant · 06/12/2023 22:52

ArthurbellaScott · 05/12/2023 20:27

Thanks. I'll add to the court case thread.

Where can I find the court case thread?

How do these people manage to get through the day ffs when they see transphobia in every word anyone else says?

I don't think them saw transphobic harassment at all. I think they pulled the stunt in a blatant attempt at getting a big payout. Why else would them have said that either name was acceptable, then had a hissy fit?

I think if Humza Yousuf was the judge, he would have thrown it out thusly "At it Gender, Plainly"

CaramelMac · 07/12/2023 11:00

Sadly people will read these cases in the paper and the. when they get a trans applicant think it’s not worth the bother or be worried about putting a foot wrong and being sued so hire someone else instead.

It's the new 'I tripped over a loose paving slab'.

Undoubtedly!

Precipice · 05/12/2023 22:06

If you think being called a man is harassment, why would you choose to call yourself MANdie?

I suppose it is MAN + DIE (Diversity, Inclusion, Equality) - isn’t it?

Rightsraptor · 07/12/2023 14:08

Very good, @HiddenLegoOuch !

Doesn’t your employer promote ‘bring your whole self to work’?
