He's not posted on twitter for a few days, hope he's chillaxing and not unwell or banned again

I was wondering same thing! Hope everything is okay.

Kalamitie · 22/11/2023 09:40

He's still liking the occasional tweet so is probably on a temporary posting ban.

Catsanfan · 22/11/2023 09:48

I was wondering this, was gonna post here tomorrow if still nothing. It is a bit odd as he usually can't stop tweeting. Does anyone know if he was at LWS over the weekend?

Vegemiteandhoneyontoast · 22/11/2023 09:52

Maybe he's got the bug that half the country seem to have at the moment?

Appalonia · 22/11/2023 09:57

He was at Battle of Ideas a few weeks ago, being interviewed by Andrew Doyle. He said having his book come out was like being cancelled all over again, so not the positive experience you would hope, despite it selling so well. He also got visibly very upset when asked about how old friends have treated him. I felt so sad for him, he looked like a broken man.

Toseland · 22/11/2023 10:12

Thanks, I was wondering this too - hope he is ok.

RandySavage · 22/11/2023 10:18

I was kind of hoping he was in hiding as he was going to be a surprise participant in “I’m a celebrity…”

LadyBevvy · 22/11/2023 10:29

Might get shouted at for saying this but I feel like Glinner spends more time these days tlaking about how bad things have been for him, and making fun of trans people on Twitter, than he actually spends on the GC cause.

I appreciate things have been bad for him since spekaing out but we have dangerous men in female prisons right now, and young women having burgeoning sports careers being wrecked by men - if he's serious about the GC cause, this is what he should be focussed on.

I say that as a great supporter of his and buyer of his book. It's actually only since his book PR campaign that I've started to feel this way.

KJK says what she has got to say with no self-pity.

Yes, I’d noticed he hasn’t retweeted/posted since 18 Nov which is a long time for such a prolific poster. Hoping he’s doing a bit of a detox and/or having a self-imposed break.

I do see your point but I don’t think KJK lost her career, her spouse, a majority of her friends through doing her activism work. I mean I could be wrong, but from what I can tell.

Graham lost everything to fight for a cause which as a man he could easily say, ‚ain’t got skin in the game. Not my circus.‘ and bowed out. He didn’t.

i think he’s allowed some self-reflection and empathy.

I have to agree, he's basically given up writing articles for his substack - I unsubscribed as a paying member a few weeks ago.

Catsanfan · 22/11/2023 10:51

I do see your point but I think he needs a bit of slack, KJK hasn't lost anything like as much as Glinner has

No I fully get that, having said that KJK has had credible threats on her life, fear of attack etc. We don't know how this has affected her family, job, mental health, reelationships etc (although I'd bet there's been devastation in some of these areas) precisely because she doesn't go on about it!

WhenSheWasBadshewasawesome · 22/11/2023 11:15

I hope he's ok, am halfway through his book and it's excellent. Also found a little gem of his, Count Arthur Strong on Amazon. Hoping the book ends up a positive move for him. He is very honest in it so I imagine he's had to relive a bit of personal trauma.

Abhannmor · 22/11/2023 11:25

I was going to give my copy of Tough Crowd away as a Christmas present. But instead I've ordered 2 more to give away. My copy is signed !

I hope Glinner is just giving Twitter break as many have advised him. Something we all need to do periodically.

Pamspeople · 22/11/2023 12:02

I noticed that he stopped writing much for his Substack once he got reinstated on Twitter, it must take all his time. I think the focus on what he's been through is sort of inevitable while he's promoting the book. I doubt it will be a long term thing

I think he can be allowed a bit of a break. We all need to get some relief from the relentlessness of it all sometimes.

Pamspeople · 22/11/2023 17:04

Absolutely, regular twitter breaks are very necessary for sanity.

You're behind the times, we had it last month!

Vegemiteandhoneyontoast · 22/11/2023 17:30

Me and OH have had it this week and it seems everyone else in town has too, but maybe it just took a while to get here 🙂

Vegemiteandhoneyontoast · 22/11/2023 17:32

After posting that comment this morning I thought about what's happened Glinner's life these last few years and it's not surprising if he's gone quiet. He's been in the thick of it for so long and then there's all the intensity of the book. The man must be exhausted.

Feministwoman · 22/11/2023 19:29

Was just coming to post that link.
Hope he's OK, have already asked my local library and two local indy bookshops to stock it

Abhannmor · 23/11/2023 14:35

If Glinner is reading this : I've just bought another copy of your book in an actual shop , Easons. Although the sales person had multicoloured hair she didn't give me any 'vibes'.

Illegallyblonder · 23/11/2023 14:42

I really hope he is ok. Twitter is a cesspit and I don't miss it at all.
