The Scouts (and cubs) have had an appalling history of abuse of boys which at one stage it seemed they had learnt from with some rigorious safeguarding measures. But evidently this was not rigorous enough with now girls as well as boys being targeted by abusers.

A message which appears to have passed the Guides by judging by their breaching of basic safeguarding measures along with openly engaging with adults with all sorts of porn related & other histories.

And the fact, of course, that with the Scouts being now fully mixed-sex, all the more reason to maintain the Guides as girls only.

You'd have thought.

I hope people involved with Guides who are concerned can take lessons from Scouts to urge Guides to improve also safeguarding. You can bet potential abusers, who are deterred by Scouts tightening up, may take their transferable skills and look for softer targets.
