Hi everyone. We're dropping in because we're receiving a number of reports about the various threads discussing this charity. Most of you will be familiar with our guidelines specific to sex and gender discussions and if you're not, please take a look at them.
As our guidelines say, we do allow people to discuss biology and scientific evidence - and we know that in cases such as this, it's an integral part of the discussion. But we know that many transgender people find the use of pronouns or names that they or others have consciously rejected to be hurtful and would struggle to engage in a discussion with those who insist on using them. We look at the context of course, but there's a fair chance we'll delete these expressions if they're perceived as deliberately inflammatory.
Finding common ground is tough when there's a deep-rooted disagreement on the very terms of the discussion - but we strongly believe that the best path forward involves respectful and constructive debate. Our goal is to make Mumsnet a space that doesn't feel unwelcoming to any particular group, whether it's trans individuals, gender-critical feminists, or anyone else.
