Feminism: Sex and gender discussions
OctogenarianDecathlete · 28/10/2023 18:12

James Klüg does some great videos like this. He's worked with Peter Bhogossian and the billboard guy too.

I really like this style of just innocuous questioning. (Though PB does seem to get frustrated at times!)

It astounds me how often people just walk away or refuse to answer.

Though, of course, it's not clear how much comes from clever editing.

IncomingTraffic · 28/10/2023 18:24

So many of the college students are either just plain confused about what menstruation is or clearly terrified to say ‘the wrong thing’.

It’s like they’re being deskilled to navigate the intellectual terrain. At university. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Catsanfan · 28/10/2023 18:34

Do any of you have university students as children? Would be interesting to hear what they make of this

ChishiyaBat · 28/10/2023 18:38

My eldest has just finished uni, he thinks it' s all bollocks, but is a bit be kind I suppose even though he doesn't believe any of it. My daughter who is 11months younger than him is as terfy as me though. My youngest 15 also thinks it's all bollocks though, so I don't think all young people are captured and enthralled by the gender cult. We live in a deprived working class area if that's relevant, which I suspect it is highly relevant.

Two. Both are quite clear that there are two sexes and only females menstruate. However - and sadly - both are also quite clear that it is something that should never be said. Ds is quite happy to go along with whatever his trans friends want. Dd is totally Koolaided.

Orchidgarden · 28/10/2023 18:41

No. They can't. End of.

ChishiyaBat · 28/10/2023 18:41

@OctogenarianDecathlete I have seen some of his other videos while scrolling, it is good to see what others think. It's sad that some people are scared to answer. Does anyone know if there are any videos in the UK like this? I'd be interested to see them.

@ChishiyaBat I’m sure I’ve seen UK videos by Peter Bhogossian but don’t remember the actual topic. Billboard Chris has also been to UK standing with his billboard so he might have some videos.

ChishiyaBat · 28/10/2023 21:44

@ThomasinaLivesHere thanks i'll take a look.

Why? Don't they believe in scientific truth? Is DD happy to be marginalised by TW?

PaperWalkAndTalk · 29/10/2023 13:33

I've read something about the question "can a woman have a penis", and it is the same here, it is not about whether people truly believe in it or not (because 99.99% don't), it is a question to test whether someone is "brave" enough to state the truth or not.

Those college students are scared of stating the truth. Now I don't know how American universities operate, but perhaps they could be expelled for stating such views? But there is definitely a culture of fear that someone will get you for telling the truth.

Trans is a privileged belief so I'm not surprised that people from working class areas will tell the truth. And it's really only those from privileged upper middle-class areas who risk losing social standing for stating the truth. Normal working class and middle-class people have no social standing to lose from speaking the truth.

I could happily state the truth in my workplace (a fairly standard business in Essex), but if I was to do that at the BBC their tolerance of me would quickly drop.

To me - the people walking away know they will get neamed and shamed if they answer. They clearly see the trap.

Which actually saus so much more than the answer to the question.

People are well and truly muzzeled.

This is one of the things that most concerns me. An entire generation is being schooled in avoiding their own critical thinking and rational judgement. The repercussions of this coud be so dangerous.

seXX · 29/10/2023 14:15

@ChishiyaBat turning point UK do some similar videos in UK, eg:

I found it worrying the number of people, including women who think someone getting emotional occasionally equates to menstruation!

Is It Gay To Date A Trans-Woman?

TPUK's COO Nick Tenconi Challenges Woke Students At The University Of Reading By Asking Them If It's Gay To Date A Trans-Woman.

ChishiyaBat · 29/10/2023 14:27

Thank you @seXX I will give them a watch. Yes it is scary, how is basic biology passing all these people by, it's crazy to me!

lechiffre55 · 29/10/2023 15:15

no

Lifeinlists · 29/10/2023 15:25

Some of those people didn't seem to fully understand the term 'menstruate'. Maybe not a great advert for US biology education - though one of them sounded British.

Interesting but they are different questions, the US question is a simple question on human biology and how brave someone is to state the truth.

A question about sexual attraction is more of an opinion, but one that questions the identity of both the heterosexual male and the male-to-female transsexual.

ChishiyaBat · 29/10/2023 15:34

@Lifeinlists this is a common theme I find, there is no basic biology knowledge, I am not an intelligent person, but I still remember being taught science, I swear it sounds like half of these people in these videos and online have bever set foot in a science lab or opened a gcse(or equivalent) textbook ever! It's worrying!

Some of them are terrified because they know what being cancelled is.

The insanity of the young woman in the video who claims to be a man (2.22 in if you want to see)

What are we doing to young people?

Biology.

She can pretend she's a man if she wants, but she's going to have to do a lot more work if she wants me to pretend too.

PTSDBarbiegirl · 29/10/2023 16:10

Agree with PP that trans is very much a privilege belief. Don't hear much shouting about TWAW in the housing schemes.

ChishiyaBat · 29/10/2023 16:15

@PTSDBarbiegirl it is creeping in around here, although by no means as much as the cities&more affluent areas.

caringcarer · 29/10/2023 16:42

How ridiculous of course they can't. More biology lessons are needed.
