'The Deputy Leader of the Green Party Zack Polanski also thinks people with gender critical views aren’t welcome in the party. He’s made it clear that “those members who claim that trans women are men and trans men are women – should not have a place in the Greens.”'

Quoting this interview from earlier this year:

'... he says that the small number of members who take a contrary view to the party’s policies on trans rights – specifically those members who claim that trans women are men and trans men are women – should not have a place in the Greens. He says: “I’m really clear that if you want to misgender someone then that is transphobic and transphobia is not welcome in the Green Party.”'

sounds like potential discrimination, to me.

I'd also add that saying a 'small number' of members are 'gender critical' is a deliberate distortion.

This weekend the Green Party is gathering for its Autumn conference in Brighton. Given the increasing urgency of the climate crisis and the appalling record of the current government you might think…

I left over this and told them why.

@Stephanee The gender critical women who make up the majority of the committee of GPW are not anti LGBT.

One of them is a lesbian. The old fashioned kind who isn't attracted to people with penises.

The GCs are committed to supporting the rights of people who are same sex attracted

They defend women's rights. The only way that can be seen as transphobic is if there is a conflict between women's rights and trans rights, something which TRAs deny.

Guess not!

Re the online conference faults I posted about. I paid the same fee as those who attended in person, however was unable to officially access the whole programme online, including the GPW meeting and other fringe events.

So not truly an Online Conference, as I was sold.

The voting, in theory, was supposed to work. In practice it was a total shambles and the short time allowed( 1min) while the online polls were open (and the need, online, to swap between the two different platform windows, one for Conference, one for the polls, refresh, then vote)

Meant that it was v v v hard to actually vote, even if with no disability.

For those with a disability (which a number of online registrants, like me, do obviously have!)

it was an absolute fucking nightmare.

But of course, incompetence, not deliberate disenfranchised, right? 🙄
