Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Plus and end to the training of medical staff in transgender ideology.

Christ, I can't help but feel sorry for HCPs. Forced to watch stupid films about men being allowed to access women's toilets, then being told to say chest feeding, then being told no, forget all that.

So the next thing should be an announcement of sanctions if it's not carried out

There desperately needs to be some mechanism for this. At the moment it seems NHS management / EDI types are free to piss about with millions of public money whilst totally failing to do what they're employed to do and there is absolutely no consequence whatsoever.

It's not just in this area, in the Letby case several senior paediatricians were sanctioned, forced to apologise to Letby and threatened with their medical licenses being reviewed for raising entirely reasonable concerns. One of the paediatricians has given several media interviews questioning why there is no accountability for NHS management (unlike for doctors who can have their license removed). And he's right. He pointed out that often when there is a scandal (Letby, Maternity wards) the management waltz into other high paying NHS jobs. In an article I saw he said something like 'they move to another hospital and you worry about what will happen there'.

All the while, people (including transpeople) cannot get the care they need. It's all driven by a bunch of self-serving ideologues who use things like EDI as a smokescreen to do what they want and avoid having to demonstrate any level of success in their job at all, seemingly.

A few strategic redundancies and accountability for bad managers would probably make a world of difference (and a big improvement) to the culture at the NHS.

Is this actually going to happen though? Last time I looked the government seemed to have lost control of the NHS.

They told them to get rid of the waste of money that is EDI and they haven't done it, despite a massive shortfall in nurses which the millions that goes to EDI staff could be used for (i.e. pay nurses a bit more).

The NHS seems to ignore Govt directions on these issues. I wonder if this has something to do with Andrew Lansley and his NHS reforms? In effect, he removed accountability for the NHS from the relevant Govt departments in order to make it easier for private providers to become involved in NHS services.

This decentralisation and marketisation of the NHS and the reduction of Whitehall accountability might be making it easier for NHS services to ignore Ministers 🤔

100% agree. Far too many promoted above their ability. There also needs to be more movement between NHS and other sectors/industry. (Not talking privatisation.) I went to a meeting with NHS/council/charities etc last week and the NHS lead on the project thought the timetable year 1 should be form, storm, norm. That was it, no perform, for a collaboration of well established organisations many of whom already work together. No tangible benefits for the local population. Maybe we could look at data sharing agreements..... The project is only funded for 2 years!

The BBC’s take includes a quote from Cleo Madeleine of Gendered Intelligence that:

“there have been no issues with this system. It is not something that has led to widespread complaints.”

Not sure that’s quite true Cleo!

'No issues' - who did they ask?

Reminds me of Scotgov woman repeating ' there is no evidence' in the face of all the front pages running Isla Bryson in his pink leggings.

The government has to make sure that the CQC who carry out NHS inspections enforce single sex spaces etc. NHS organisations fear getting a bad report from the CQC.
