It’s corrupt and horrendous. What other misogynies is this police force permitting? This won’t be an isolated area and it sends a message to other local police forces in NZ.

Meanwhile here in UK the metropolitan police in London are financially compensating some of women who were abused by their staff at a women’s rights process which is a teeny tiny step in the right direction. It was a protest sparked by the abduction and murder of a local woman, Sarah Everard, by a serving officer of the Met police.

So UK women are not commenting on this from a place of safety either, but this specific conflict of interest in NZ policing seems so obvious and Inevitable to be harming women. I can’t see how it’s allowed to continue and I hope NZ women take legal action against this corruption.

As here in the UK that is clearly the only way to get institutional corruption challenged since so many politicians are captured. Elected politicians don’t help us - even the Conservative government here for past 13 years which some women will be voting back in because they say they ‘know what a woman is’ Hmm haven’t helped women in this regard and they haven’t added any legal protections for women and children in the 13 years of being in power which is the time in which gender identity politics if we just take that one specific example of misogyny, has really taken hold.

Is 'heartwarming' TRA speak for an erection?

You have to wonder where the big hitters are, if mumsnet is worth persistently going at, why not send someone who has a clue?

Good point. I suspect it’s because no one can assemble a logical argument in favour of letting men remove women’s rights, without proving that it’s a male supremacist movement. And the claim that men are actually women if they say so doesn’t stand up to 10 seconds’ scrutiny.

Their big hitters are only good at shouting loudly and issuing threats. Not really persuasive, given that most Mumsnetters are used to coping with toddlers …

Did you have to bring Isla’s pretty pink tights back to my mind? 😂

KJK has had to call off her trip to NZ
Wahinewontwheesht · 20/09/2023 08:38

Great to be able to hear lots of women speak in Auckland today, the police did their job this time.

According to the police inspector:
“In general, this was a peaceful protest, which police monitored accordingly, and we note there was little disruption to traffic in the area.”

Link to the Peaceful protestors. Note all the policewomen at the front 🤔.

Protesters clash with police after court appearance of Posie Parker juice thrower

One person was issued a warning after the protest in St Patrick's Square on Wednesday.

The person who assaulted KJK was in court.

Notice how the assault has been dismissively described. Throwing soup over someone sounds a lot less violent than describing this person’s charge of assault. Describing it as having soup thrown over a woman sounds comical, a legitimate act or inherently ignores the fear someone feels in that moment.

Snap! wahine!

wasn’t it rather vivid that the women were not the ones trying to break through the police barrier?

ArabeIIaScott · 20/09/2023 08:42

Thanks for reporting, wahine.

Wahinewontwheesht · 20/09/2023 09:19

Indeed Helleofabore. I hope everyone got home safely. That footage just shows the rest of NZ exactly what these ‘activists’ are. I’m surprised it’s been included in that MSM article.

I am concerned about the outcome of the case. It has the potential to give TRAs carte blanche.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 20/09/2023 09:29

Yes given ‘fault on both sides blah blah’, where was the big line of police officers preventing the women from surging at the trans protest

AvacadoFieldsForever · 20/09/2023 10:07

Well done everyone who made it and spoke! Hope you all got home safe

Helleofabore · 20/09/2023 15:06

Just adding this to wahine’s post.

What is interesting was the trans person who spoke up in support for the Let Women Speak event. But hey, according to our ageist, misogynist poster, that person will die with the feminist dinosaurs.

Still, always interesting to see a reminder that just like women campaigning for sex to be prioritised where it matters are not all one homogeneous group, neither are trans people. I think most regulars know this and repeat it often, yet those people who supposedly support trans people often forget .

Is there any news on the thug who assaulted the woman in her 70s? Has he even been arrested?

The women placed in the front line.🤷
(And the danger held on lower ground)
A PR and a tactical decision.

Violent bully boys antics are less likely to get a sympathy photo if the police officer being belted over the head is a woman.
And the other police ( riot squad) "around the corner" will be mainly men because if a riot starts physical strenght matters.
