'Our sister @sarahjane.baker.1000 is being cruelly persecuted by the state.

The home sec Cruella Braverman interfered in the police decision it was free speech? Mad.

She will likely be recalled to a male prison.

No matter the outcome of court today she is going back to prison.

Come and show her all the love and support she needs as she faces this.

They would. They are a despicable bunch of men.

SerafinasGoose · 14/07/2023 11:00

I'm not on insta, but saw this on Twitter and came here to see if anyone's posted about this.

Sisters Uncut on Twitter: "🚨🚨 Get down to Westminster Magistrates court tomorrow Friday 14th July 10am to support a trans woman victimised by the Home Sec & police. Disgusting. t.co/7pDDCiUvZh" / Twitter

Some of the responses to this are encouraging. A good many are to the tune of incitement to violence is not 'free speech', and asking how the hell they colour this as victimization.

'Sisters' uncut is the right name.

SerafinasGoose · 14/07/2023 11:02

Actually, scrub that. 'Uncut' is the right name.

Someone on Twitter has rechristened them 'Misters Uncut'. Sounds a lot more accurate!

Tallisker · 14/07/2023 11:05

Are they mainly men?

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 14/07/2023 11:08

They started off as women but more recently they have described themselves as ‘trans led’. Because transwomen are the most oppressed women of all (more than disabled women, black women, poor women….).

ArabeIIaScott · 14/07/2023 11:08

'this is a disturbing political attack on a transwoman by simply speaking out loud a hypothetical self defence'

Good lord.

Seem to have a lot of women following them.

They stood at the door of an early WPUK meeting I went to blocking the exit ritually chantingTWAW.

Miranda Yardley was in front of them saying "We're men" after each of their chants.

They looked very confused.

'What is your gender inclusion policy and what does it mean?

Our meetings should be inclusive and supportive spaces for all women (trans, intersex and cis) and all nonbinary, agender and gender variant people. Self-definition is at the sole discretion of that individual. We do not police gender in our spaces. If you are here it is because you feel that you are included by our gender inclusion policy, and therefore you are welcome. Our meetings and spaces are not open to people who identify solely or primarily as men. If you have any queries regarding our gender inclusion policy, please don’t hesitate to ask questions.

Why can’t men come to meetings?

We believe that women and non-binary people must be at the forefront of the movement for our rights. Therefore we need safer, collective spaces where we can organise, share our experiences, learn from each other and support one another. We want to ensure our meetings are welcoming and empowering for survivors of domestic, sexual and state violence, and for that reason we ask men not to attend.'

Sisters Uncut: FAQs

Of course they do.

FKATondelayo · 14/07/2023 11:18

I'm shocked that a leftist women's organisation has been infiltrated and taken over by violent men. SHOCKED.

LonginesPrime · 14/07/2023 11:20

What a strange fight to take on.

It's...it's almost like all you have to do is be a man who declares an identity and you can enter!

ArabeIIaScott · 14/07/2023 11:08

Women following the men is about right.

PronounssheRa · 14/07/2023 11:31

It's not the first time they have supported violent men

zanahoria · 14/07/2023 11:42

So they do not police gender but they do not want men?

56.8K views and 65 likes as of now. Ha!

Thelnebriati · 14/07/2023 11:45

They are supposed to protest cuts to DV services. Not sure how creating more female victims of male violence fits their mission statement.

Shydelta · 14/07/2023 11:48

Hooray! Great news about Baker. It’d better be a men’s prison, given his history.

As for the thread: violent misogynists supporting other violent misogynists. Quelle surprise!

Kevinscousin · 14/07/2023 11:49

I remember the "Misters" funding raising for terrible injustices that have apparently been inflicted on trans prisoners and at least four of them were convicted sex offenders... Not that they highlighted that of course when they were crowdfunding of course. They truly are a horrible bunch of Men's Rights Activists.

MavisMcMinty · 14/07/2023 11:52

If I’d spent 30 years in prison, it’d be the last place on earth I’d want to revisit. I’d do NOTHING that risked my fragile freedom.

Thelnebriati · 14/07/2023 11:55

But you are saying that as someone who has built a life outside of prison, not as someone who may be institutionalised.
Ex prisoners need support, not cheerleaders.

OiCatThatsMySeat · 14/07/2023 11:55

Just as an aside and re their gender inclusion policy - wasn't "agender" invented as a pisstake term by a MNer? Who was going to put herself forward for some kind of EDI award at work? That's the only time I've heard that term before!

DoIWantToGetIntoThisHere · 14/07/2023 12:41

No OiCat agender very much exists outside and before MN. It means you don’t identify with any gender identity but I think gender critical types aren’t allowed to use it to describe themselves because that would be transphobic because they don’t ‘believe’ in gender identities of any type - whereas a ‘genuine’ agender person would buy into the idea of gender identity but just hasn’t/can’t/won’t choose one or is wavering on that day. They can describe themselves as agender and probably have a flag - and possibly a penchant for Lucy Yak dungarees (I actually own some so perhaps I’ll be allowed?)

It definitely should not be confused with asexual or aromantic.

ArabeIIaScott · 14/07/2023 12:52

Yes. All of this lionising of SJB is not helpful for him, either. He is clearly a disturbed and damaged person who needs solid support, not mindless cheerleading of violent and self destructive urges.

SJB has been wielding signs that call for violence ('kill JKR' 'be trans do crime') and insult the police etc for years without any action from the authorities. It's lent him tacit approval. All of this thuggery has been cheered on as 'righteous anger' and it's led him to escalate and has now led to him being recalled.

Traumatised people with personality disorders need access to proper help, as well as ensuring that they are not able to harm others.

I'm still trying to process that a man who is disturbed enough to remove his own testicles in prison is then responded to by the prison removing his penis, according to reports. This is not 'support'. This is not helping. This is not a sane, responsible response to someone who clearly has serious and severe issues.

The whole movement is built on denial of reality, and this kind of very twisted logic reveals just how damaging it is for those involved.
