Domestic abuse according to the CPS includes...

Misgendering and dead naming.

Some of these things sound horrendous and fair enough to include them.

But really??? This is surely compelled speech.

This is also the CPS. Understanding for creeps who commit the gateway crime of stealing women's knickers from their washing lines. Total capture.

twitter.com/varindeus/status/1676919199799681025?s=46&t=SPorwN-mokktL467rcZ57g

He had to steal women’s underwear off womdn’s washing lines because he couldn’t buy it in a shop.

First, I don’t believe he couldn’t have bought a few items in a department store. I used to work in one and wouldn’t turn a hair at a man buying underwear for his wife or girlfriend. But that wouldn’t provide the thrill of stealing.

Second, he had to go into their gardens, a private place where women generally feel secluded. So, he gets the thrill of intruding, and of imagining the woman’s dismay at knowing someone has been mauling her clothes.

But the CPS is fine with this.

Didn't you see the Father Ted Christmas Special?

First, I don’t believe he couldn’t have bought a few items in a department store.

That's because it's bullshit, The CPS are just stupid enough to believe it.

Even before the Internet there were mail order catalogues, I'm sure there would have been specialised mail order too

Sneezel · 07/07/2023 14:41

The guidance would criminalise children of transitioners too- if they shared a childhood photo, or when they call their fathers dad ( the GRA protects children at present and says their dads can't pretend to be mums- Freddie McConnell's case confirmed this). Is calling your dad dad going to be misgendering and get these poor kids arrested?
What about when girls report sexual abuse, or refuse to get undressed in front of their dads or other males who ID as female- will they be arrested for body shaming the males?
This CPS guidance is abusive and frightening.

TinselAngel · 07/07/2023 18:08

I'm pretty devastated by this. It's difficult to get my head around.

TurtleRecall · 07/07/2023 18:55

I can only imagine @TinselAngel

How is everyone so blind to this?

MrsOvertonsWindow · 07/07/2023 19:20

I hope this is picked up by the press - much of the media have been great at highlighting all the abuse and batshittery recently.
This is so serious as this is the body that oversees all criminal cases and for them to threaten women and children in this way is completely unacceptable.

I hope Fair Cop do go for a judicial review.

HermioneWeasley · 07/07/2023 19:40

It’s absolutely appalling. Surely the CPS can’t just make up their own offences?

TooBigForMyBoots · 07/07/2023 22:25

Has the Home Secretary commented yet?

DerekFaker · 08/07/2023 10:12

Ooh!

Great to see this getting coverage.

Crikey, top work OP

this is outrageous and it’s great to see the media acknowledging that

I also love the difference in style between the MoL and the Telegraph!

MissPollysFitDolly · 07/07/2023 08:57

Gender identity is what you know your gender to be and can only be decided by the individual for themselves. Gender identity might be the same as assigned sex (cisgender) or different to assigned sex (trans). Gender identity is not the same as sexuality; trans and non-binary people identify as heterosexual, gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, asexual, and aromatic, amongst other identities.

Imagine all that guff on a government website, stated as fact. Next they'll be advising us on how to cast out demons.

Aromatic? Like the stuff in my tonic water? I don't understand.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 08/07/2023 10:32

There's over 1600 comments under that Telegraph article - many of the similar to this one:
"How did we end up here? I feel like I'm living out some dystopian, twisted, psychological horror version of the "Emperor's New Clothes". Where we have to pretend that the patently absurd is perfectly normal, or else we are told that we are the crazy ones!"

At some stage, there must be a reversal of all this. So much of it, like this "guidance", is obviously the product of disordered and biased "thinking". Now that the population is peaked in their millions, the power of the gender bigots will start to diminish.

Supersimkin2 · 08/07/2023 10:44

We got here cos men abuse women.

Thank you @Spero That letter showcases the grim reality of the trans extremist capture of the CPS Terrifying to see it laid out like this.

Spero · 08/07/2023 21:16

Thanks - I am really hoping that either I or Harry could have standing to bring a JR. We might argue that as active campaigners we are at risk of a politically motivated prosecution. But its a stretch. What we really need is someone who successfully appealed a conviction or who has a prosecution discontinued and then that's a very direct link.

But I suspect that all of this is not actually about locking women up - just creating such an environment of fear that we shut up and comply.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 08/07/2023 21:21

Remembering how the CPS instantly caved when faced with a JR about their toxic guidelines for children in schools, a JR is precisely what's needed. If nothing else, it would showcase their ideological capture and the complete failure of senior staff to run a professional and ethical service.

It seems to massively contradict the GRA where partners can end the marriage beforehand doesn't it?

What's going on there?

Institutional capture. Echo Chamber of a limited pool of advisers who don't understand the law or don't care about it.

Presumably this is the point: to reopen the "spousal veto". By the back door.

We Are Fair Cop have written to Max Hill about the policy and the wider picture:
