I came across my first larping male healthcare worker recently. Whilst I wouldn't want to offend the individual themselves, i was wondering if they realised its very very obvious what sex they were 'assigned at birth'. I wondered how the other patients felt

ArabeIIaScott · 11/06/2023 21:22

I've often been quite surprised at how deluded people can apparently be about their appearance. Of course very few people would be impolite enough to mention it.

What power (if any) does the NHS Confederation have in relation to the NHS? What's the connection between its guidance and NHS decision making? Between its charitable purposes and this campaigning activity?

It claims to represent 1.5 million NHS staff, but how does that representation work? How many active members do they actually have? How many elect the trustees and vote for policy decisions like this?

I love Baroness Nicholson.

No debate is over.

My mother was admitted last year.

She is 90.

She needed a catheder.

Two males nurses did it - one held her legs apart while one inserted it.

I have never seen such a distressing sight in my life.

Not fit for FEMALES.

Thelnebriati · 11/06/2023 23:56

@4plusthehound I'm so sorry to hear that, it must have been extremely distressing for you both Flowers

That's awful, your poor mum @4plusthehound

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/06/2023 00:04

Also, the Baroness' letter is 👌

4plusthehound · 12/06/2023 00:13

Thank you.

I would not have an ounce of confidence that an NHS hospital could guarantee my safety of dignity.

I really do think it is literally an unsafe environment for women.

At a time of insane wealth in the country, and a standard of living rarely seen before the fact that rape is an issue in hospitals should be enough to shut them down. OR at the very least - with immediately effect return to male/female wards.

PJ Rules Obviously I applaud the sentiment but it would be easy to ignore because it just sounds like a rant.
It would have helped to point out the impacts on people protected by sex and belief in the equalityactI

I'm going to disagree with the majority here and agree with this. The body of the text is good, absolutely no argument about that. But a bit more detail would have maybe helped?

Also, the closing sentence 'Please stop this nonsense before any more rot sets in' just sounds too emotional and a 'ranty plea' after the previous tone - it was a contradiction in tone and could have been so much more powerful.

Steve Barclay is well aware of these issues and I'm sure the Baroness has tailored her letter accordingly. I don't understand the need to nit pick.

Steve Barclay has ordered an investigation after £165,000 of taxpayers’ money was spent creating a guide to advise NHS doctors to communicate with patients in a “gender-neutral” way.
The guide includes a foreword from Stonewall and NHS England’s national adviser for LGBT health, who described it as a "must read" for all health and social care professionals.

From Feb.

You dont just ignore the baroness.

Plus she has already done so much. I bet she is fed up of saying the same things over and over.

And in this case it's the report and how the report was made (sorry words have left me this morning)

£165,000?! Jesus H, what is this, a licence to make money and rip off the taxpayer? To add to every other sin this document is guilty of.

Baroness Nicholson and Dame Falkener. My utmost respect to you, surrounded by a tepid pool of moral pygmies.
