So I got my free copy of the food magazine, to find an account labelled "Better together", about the support they give, through a group called PIPS, Pride in Partnership, for LGBTQIA+ partner to meet together. Fine. But David Wright goes on to say that "LGBTQIA+ hate crime, particularly anti-trans crime and rhetoric, is on the rise." And thus they need to support their community, and celebrate their differences. So they raising money for LGBTQIA+ charities by selling a Pride tote bag. "Inclusion and equality remain some of most crucial values."
It has a rainbow and the slogan "Proud to be Ourselves".
I am going to write that inclusion and equality should include equal treatment of women, and standing against hate crime from men.
I have to be careful for one of the local partners is the mother of an ex-pupil who has transitioned mtf, in the late teens, lovely lass doing environmental work, and not engaged in hate crime, I assume.
But the assumption that all of them are lovely and never attack women or pour piss over public building is blind. If hate crimes against LGBTQIA+ folk are risiing, they have to think why it might be.
