..even as a Labour voter and party member I don't want to give them my vote.

So here is my plan. I will put my cross in their box, and I will write something like the following...in small letters so each candidate has to look properly when the doubtful ballots are reviewed...

"You cannot have my vote unless you can define what a woman is..."

And then I'll write a name. It probably won't be mine, but they wont know that. And any vote with a name on is considered spoilt. So they will clearly see that it is a lost vote for them on the basis of this one issue.

Does that sound like a good plan?

I've never spoiled a ballot before, always assuming it would just go in a pile of spoiled ones nobody other than the counters would see and so was a waste of time as the candidates or reps wouldn't see it. Now from the posts above I see they may be looked at by Labour reps

So, im going with...... " No woman has a penis ....angry ex Labour voter" in small writing but not in any of the tick boxes.

Small things and all that

Mine is now a thing of beauty, it has 'respect my sex if you want my X' on every candidate - in tiny writing alternating purple and green.

I've also put some question such as, "does a woman have a penis" and "Women were willing to die for me to vote, it breaks my heart to spoil a ballot, but this is more important than my feelings"

Then in and amongst I have written the names of suffragettes.
I almost posted a pic but it would identify me.

I think there is a difference between local and national elections in that in local
elections the number of voters needed to get someone elected is small, and because the main parties will be looking closely at the results as they start to plan their general election strategy.

That said, we keep telling them. Will they listen?
