Apparently the Z is for Zoology

"In this essay, I draw the discourses around bestiality/zoophilia into the realm of queer theory in order to point to a new form of animal advocacy, something that might be called, in shorthand, loving animals. My argument is quite simple: if all interdicts against bestiality depend on a firm notion of exactly what sex is (and they do), and if queer theory disrupts that firm foundation by arguing that sexuality is impossible to define beforehand and pervades many different kinds of relations (and it does), then viewing bestiality in the frame of queer theory can give us another way to conceptualize the limitations of human exceptionalism. By focusing on transformative connections between humans and animals, a new form of animal advocacy emerges through the revolutionary power of love."

When the backlash comes, ordinary gay men and lesbians are going to get caught up in it if there is not greater support for movements like the LGBA, that are without the TQ+. Having fought for their rights for so long this is so unfair on them, this forced teaming.

And actually ordinary transmen and transwomen who have been minding their own business for decades till the kids came along to 'woke' everyone up, they too are going to get caught up in a backlash unless they separate themsleves from the extremes of the TQ+ ideology.

We're onto raping animals now. Awesome. Much of the human race should get in the fucking bin.

Tillytrotter67 · 05/04/2023 12:08

Didn't Spain just pass a law saying that bestiality was fine as long as the animal didn't need vet care after the rape? So just be gentle with that ewe, heifer or doe.

QueenHippolyta · 05/04/2023 12:11

I'm pretty much a vegan for ethical reasons, this is utterly foul.
Lesbians are with the W(omen).
and that's all.

Fuck me, seriously??

nilsmousehammer · 05/04/2023 12:19

Oh good God.

Homosexual female, that's the term I'm sticking with. That acronym is nothing to do with me, and represents now a political belief system that seems increasingly based on a very serious issue with boundaries.

DoormatBob · 05/04/2023 12:24

As a dad to 6 year old girl I try to see the positive that this whole shit show is getting so ridiculous surely it has to implode at some point.

Not quite, It's still a crime.

Rightsraptor · 05/04/2023 12:37

I'm sure Spain recently decriminalised sex with animals, unless the animal needed veterinary attention after, as PP have said.

Whatever, it's interesting how this is being framed as liberating for the animals concerned.

Rightsraptor · 05/04/2023 12:38

'Animal advocacy', that was the termI was looking for.

I think the Welch thing was to cover up thieving sheep.

Men are gross, women, children and animals. I heard of inanimate objects too like a Henry hoover.

You can use and abuse other living beings in your sexual thrills so long as you don't injure them to the point of (you admitting that they are) needing medical attention.

As opposed to covering it up. Or doing what human predators often do with badly injured women or children when they've finished enjoying themselves and don't want lingering evidence that would put them in the dock.

This whole movement is becoming about 'it's ok to use and abuse non consenting others and the boundaries on this are negotiable'. No. It's never ok. Normal, well people do not treat people and animals in this awful sociopathic way.

Flowerly · 05/04/2023 13:00

I want the world to stop now and let me off.

The UK police help that movement by arresting anyone speaking out for them.

The Irish police put a stop to it there, now the public are free to speak up, as the police in Ireland would have to arrest each other for hate crimes.

The NHS helps this movement cover up crimes due to training and policy.

I found out about these years ago, so I hope it has changed since then.
Germany, and Denmark. Denmark recently banned it.

There was this orangutan who was rescued. It's a heartbreaking story

You begin to not want to have been born.

That pseudo academic language can be used to concoct anything and make it sound legitimate and credible.

Whoever wrote it is like an AI bot gone haywire.

Xiaoxiong · 06/04/2023 07:48

I can't believe this was published in a journal purporting to be one of feminist philosophy!! What on Earth is feminist about bestiality??

I also hate that this gives credibility to the more deranged critics of gay marriage and gay rights. I remember reading people in the 90s saying there was a "gay agenda" and about there being a slippery slope to not being anything to prevent people having sex with animals. This just plays right into those homophobic tropes.

namitynamechange · 06/04/2023 07:49

RoyalCorgi · 05/04/2023 12:46

This is what Snopes says about the Spanish law change - it's to do with poor wording, apparently:

https://www.snopes.com/news/2023/02/24/spain-decriminalize-bestiality/

That Snopes article isn't very convincing to be honest. First it says the law had to be changed to remove a loophole in the original wording because "exploitation" could be interpreted as only financial and therefore provide a loophole to people abusing animals for other reasons. That's extremely debatable**. But even if you take it as that - closing up that loophole doesn't mean you need to add another loophole - they could have changed the wording without adding "that causes physical injuries" on the end.

Xiaoxiong · 06/04/2023 07:55

I've just seen that the author of the paper is an associate professor at Duke. How. And a lesbian no less who should be familiar with the "slippery slope to bestiality" homophobic arguments!

Faffertea · 06/04/2023 08:02

@SimplyAverage
As a medic I can tell you Henry hoover is the least of it. There is no limit to where men will put their knobs or what they will put up them or their rectums.

As for this article it makes me feel ill. Queer Theory- allowing men to excuse their perversions using their fucked it definition of love as a cover. And we know paraphilias often co-exist.
