It is understood that the awards’ organisers would be reluctant to return to separate male and female categories as this would leave them unable tjo nominate non-binary artists.
Still thinking of the less than 0.5% of non binary identities over the 52% Brits? And sure, lack of women is an industry problem? We know this. This is why the one award that allowed for equal representation was so important for all potential nominee's.
Do an open category as a third option, you can include nominees that didn't make it into the Best Act to bump it up because let's face it there are few NB artists and people don't always release music every year anyway.
Please deal with reality Brit awards. Women are already left out of so much present and legacy work - songs are played less than men's and forgotten sooner as a result, they get less festival bookings which are largely booked by men.
