How can they be gay when they is non binary?
Exactly what I wondered too when I read that.
"We all know that I'm neither male nor female, but I know that I definitely only fancy the ones who are the same sex as the sex that I'm not, because I'm not any sex, I'm just special."
It's so transparent where this is heading, isn't it?
2023: "It's a terrible shame that no female artists are included in the nominations - this really should be addressed".
2024: The judges reluctantly make sure that that there's at least one woman in the shortlist, and then....
"It's a terrible shame that no non-binary artists are included in the nominations - this really should be addressed".
2025: The male and female categories are restored, along with a third one for non-binary artists, to make it fair for everybody; but it's discovered that there aren't any other NB artists around to fill the nomination slots, so Sam Smith ends up being nominated in all five of the finalist spots by default.
SS (obviously) wins the category and, in recognition for the outstanding achievement of not only being the first person EVER to win in the new Best NB category but also being the first person EVER to receive FIVE nominations in one single year, everybody agrees that the only half-decent thing to be done is to rename them 'The Tom Petty Sam Smith Brit Awards' in perpetuity.
