I just can't get my head round this at all. I don't know whether it was established that they contacted him or he applied. Either way, did they just think 'We want an academic, this man says he's an academic, oh look he's listed on the website of the LSE, I've heard of that, it's world famous, and he's in the Gender Studies department, we're all about gender - he'd be a catch!' with no grasp that they should look at what his research interests and publications were actually about? SG isn't a graduate as far as I can see, but she's been mixing with a lot of people who are, who could surely explain this to her, if they wanted to. How could this happen? How stupid and naive (let's be charitable here) do you have to be not to look at this man's stated interests to check he's suitable to be a Trustee of a children's charity working with particularly vulnerable children?
