Bad faith posts about androgynous models

Three of these recently. Used to see a lot of this on Twitter, people posting androgynous model pics and then saying "this is a man", cue outrage when it was a woman.

I'd suggest they need reported and not engaged with from the "is it or isn't it?" stance.

It's a deliberate misdirect and obviously being shared on Twitter.

They are referring to the Canadian teacher

? Canadian teacher, what is this?

I don't want to see giant fake breasts on teachers at school.

This is a bit judgemental and how do you know a teacher has giant fake breasts compared to giant natural breasts? I certainly to do not stare at my DCs teachers breasts long enough to note fake or not. And why should it matter if they are fake breasts?

Thank you for the live demonstration of her point that TRAs want to try gotcha questions that are meaningless in real life.

She means the male teacher wearing a giant prosthetic bust to school. Such a thing costs about $500 online and the male here seems to want their money's worth.

And how was I supposed to know she was referring to some teacher in Canada that I had never heard of? Why are you saying I’m doing a “gotcha question” when all she said was I don't want to see giant fake breasts on teachers at school.

Its her fault for being so vague and random.

I really can't get too worked up about men modelling women's clothes - although it would be nice to see some women modelling men's (but that doesn't garner the same amount of virtue signal points).

Where I do raise an eyebrow is with underwear though - I've recently double-taked on a JD Sport ad that keeps popping up on my FB page advertising a CK underwear set on a model who is obviously more endowed in the crotch department than a female. It makes me think whether or not the pants would be a bit baggy on a woman!

It's an awful shame you missed such a big topic of discussion recently, that even hit the international news.

Seeing as you did, and thus missed the reference, perhaps next time you could approach posters with a more open mind? Instead of presuming whatever you were presuming (please don't tell me), consider the possibility that women on this board might be sensible and have reasonable concerns about current events, and ask what they mean in future.

I’ve since done a search, and it wasn’t a big topic of discussion as it’s not even in major U.K. news outlets. Not on BBC, Guardian, Independent, Times, 🤷‍♀️

I think you should take your own advice. When someone questions a random comment using the plain English understanding of it:
I don't want to see giant fake breasts on teachers at school.

Perhaps you should not go in guns blazing accusing them of being part of the following:
TRAs want to try gotcha questions that are meaningless in real life.

Makes you look a bit bat shit really so you don’t have a high horse to sit on in this case to lecture me on having an open mind and to consider the possibility that women on this board are “sensible” when you have so obviously not extended that courtesy to me.

ScrollingLeaves · 23/10/2022 17:04

In which cultures do women and men wear exactly the same clothes?

Why do they often want to dress differently from the other sex?

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 23/10/2022 17:09

The Daily Mail does not count as a major organ (fnar) now? It's one of the biggest-selling newspapers in the UK. It ran three stories between the 18th and 23rd of September. Again, so sorry you missed the previous discussions of it.

Yeah - the giant fake breasts I was referring to was Canadian teacher as referenced below.
Once seen, never unseen.

Hahahahah
The Times is the only one of those that's reporting on any of this shitshow right now so fair enough you might not know.

I should have written "giant fake breasts on male teachers at school."
My bad!

Yes I agree and agree I wouldn’t want to see those either in a school. They’re more than giant…they’re humongous.

I don’t read the Daily Fail, I’ve found it too sensationalist? If that makes sense? Sort of like how the Sun seems to only report on SM posts and SM outrage these days.
I can only read so much news anyway, so like everyone i have my favourites :)

WandaWomblesaurus · 23/10/2022 19:42

I was writing whilst child wrangling too and getting on a train so probably not as clear as I should have been.

I've always hated the Mail but unfortunately it's one of the only papers covering some of this stuff and it does have a wide reach.

It is still a situation where a lot of people don't know some of the more extreme stuff is happening so it can seem like we are getting worked up over trying to defend stereotypes - when it's the opposite. Most of us grew up with gender bending heroes - I don't understand how our kids generation have ended up so rigid!

I saw the one titled women aren't allowed to model clothes anymore. I thought that was a huge leap to make, expecially give the the women who model are now inclusive now than ever before, and, as you say, posters were then "outraged" by this fake news.

I'm pretty sure I read a few posters were going to boycott the shop.... the post being in bad faith didn't stop some posters from agreeing with it, from what I could see.

ApocalipstickNow · 23/10/2022 19:57

There were threads here about the Canadian teacher- you’re fast enough to pop up on threads and make out women are being unreasonable, but you somehow always miss the ones where anyone can see there’s a point being made.

This would only concern me if your comments had a shred of truth to them because it would mean you have an unhealthy obsession with me, would have actually read all my posts and been cyber stalking me. But since you are wrong on both points, I can rest easy knowing you’re just a lazy keyboard warrior talking juvenile smack. Grow up.

nilsmousehammer · 23/10/2022 22:13

Word salad, word salad, blame and shame, flounce.

Yeah, seen that one. I'll wait and see for any actual engagement with evidence.

ApocalipstickNow · 23/10/2022 23:00

Keyboard warrior 😂
