A Medical Practitioners Tribunal found cosmetic surgeon Dr Christopher Inglefield misled a serious incident review meeting.

His actions were found to be dishonest.

'The tribunal found that, at a serious incident review meeting on 16 November 2018 with the Phoenix Hospital Group, Dr Inglefield stated that his practice (London Bridge Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Clinic) had informed the Care Quality Commission (CQC) of a serious clinical incident, which occurred on 7 August 2018. The tribunal found that Dr Inglefield knew that, at the time of the meeting, the CQC had not been informed and that his actions were dishonest.

The tribunal has found Dr Inglefield’s fitness to practise to be impaired by reason of his misconduct. The tribunal will reconvene to consider what sanction, if any, to impose on Dr Inglefield’s registration.'

They also note:

'In 2016, Dr Inglefield was given a 5 year written warning for repeated failure to properly complete surgical consent forms. He failed to record details & made revisions forms that weren't countersigned by the patient, who had a series of cosmetic breast procedures.'

We've had threads on Mr Inglefield before:

This caught my eye:

'Etiquette Training ½ Day Package: £200

Full Day Package: £350
Includes: Transforming body language, deportment, tips and tricks, personal image & style

Dining Etiquette Includes: transforming body language, deportment, tips and tricks
Luncheon Tutorial: £350
1 hour 30 mins including meal

Private session: on demand'

It's almost as if these people don't know how to "do" the other "gender" ... which doesn't make a lot of sense if gender is innate......

From now on it's your job to clear the table and load the dishwasher. Wiggle your hips while you're doing it.
That'll be 350 quid please.

I'm sending my husband....

So he can learn to behave like a man at the table, not a pig!!!!

Mwahahahahaha

FannyCann · 29/11/2022 13:14

May be Mr Inglefield should go on an etiquette for surgeons session.
Keep your shirt on at all times when in the company of your patients.
A bargain £5 for advice from me.

ArabellaScott · 29/11/2022 14:20

Yes, 100%.

'Bedside manner does not mean 'undressing with patients'' - you can have that tip for free, Mr Inglefield.

BoreOfWhabylon · 29/11/2022 15:18

Excellent news. Will be interesting to read the details of the hearing when they are published

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 02/12/2022 22:34

The tribunal has now decided what sanction to impose. 28 days suspension of licence.

The Daily Mail is even covering it.

FannyCann · 02/12/2022 22:49

Disappointing the DM didn't include the topless photo. I can only think they didn't do enough research - surely they wouldn't knowingly pass up an opportunity like that!

Signalbox · 02/12/2022 22:52

The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) found that although the operation was blameless, he was dishonest about declaring the incident to medical regulators.

A month suspension doesn’t seem very long in a case where they’ve found dishonesty.

www.thelondontransgenderclinic.uk/facial-feminisation-london/eye-feminisation/

Eye feminisation?! Who even knew.

'Females have relatively larger eyes with the upper lid at a slightly higher position. The female eye has a little more of a downward slant on the inner side, this is known as “canthal tilt”. The open expression of female eyes can also be attributed to raised and thin brows as this leads to more space visible between eye and brow'

2Rebecca · 02/12/2022 23:25

But sex is a spectrum and these people were just assigned the wrong sex at birth so surely their eyes are women's eyes if they are really women and no surgery is necessary as they've always been women?
The demand for all this stuff shows they don't believe their own mythology and know the"assigned at birth" stuff is nonsense and they aren't female.

Here is his price list....

www.thelondontransgenderclinic.uk/price-list/

Explains all those fundraisers.

Interesting. Seems there's a helluva lot more surgeries for MTF than FTM.

Is this another, ironic example of under-researched women's healthcare?

TheBiologyStupid · 03/12/2022 01:31

What could possibly attract people like him to this area of speciality?

OhHolyJesus · 05/12/2022 13:27

Odd that he was suspended for just one month when he failed to complete a statutory notification form, his behaviour found to be dishonest, there was an impact on staff and a patient ended up blind in one eye!

And them there's this particular oxymoron

"'There are clearly anatomical boundaries when it comes to trans women but these are problems that I believe can be surmounted and the transplant into a trans-female is essentially identical to that of a cis-female.'"

Are the anatomical boundaries not the actual relevant point of how these groups mentioned are not "essentially identical".

This is a Dr. A surgeon who cuts people. The tribunal need to take a harsher view. One month and this guy is back doing Frankenstein surgeries, his reputation barely marked. Harley street's on Dr Gallagher.

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/12/2022 16:13

He's appealed, so his suspension hasn't started yet.

Roystonv · 05/12/2022 16:35

All of this is horrifying and enough serious points raised about different aspects to all have their own thread; the NHS a) funding for such surgery when they are in dire economic straits and b) doing surgery at all at that level when mental health must be considered the prime need, the ridiculous 'punishment' from a professional body, the fact all this re-affirms trans believers etc.

FannyCann · 05/12/2022 16:35

Is it too late to make a complaint to the GMC about *that picture?
Unless there was a complaint about it I don't think it would have been considered but I honestly think that alone merits sanction. As well as the other stuff obv.
