It was only a matter of time before this happened.

Blistering piece written by William Ferguson

More repulsive behaviour from trans activists.

This movement is sterilising children and we're not allowed to say anything.

They can come to our libraries to "smash the binary" with our so-called "queer children" in drag, and we're not allowed to say anything.

They demand that males (incl sex offenders) have access to female spaces such as prisons and we're not allowed to say anything.

They turn up to women's events to shout at women who want to discuss their rights and the right of their children.

nononsense29 · 23/09/2022 23:39

I missed this...

They insist that everyone - including children - feel so gaslit by the idea that TWAW that they can't express concerns about their personal safety. Don't tell someone you don't feel safe, be kind instead.*

i saw this reported on Twitter. But the link in the OP has been removed. What was the piece and where can I find it? I’ve tried googling but it doesn’t come up.

Glinner has just completed a short interview with Fred, if anyone is interested:

I saw that. These people who attacked him are bullies and tin pot fascists. Yet they imagine themselves as heroic rebels. Pouring coffee on him was despicable.

Considering what he went through he is very calm and reasonable. I'd have been raging. You can see how upset it makes Glinner.

Solidarity to Fred and stay safe 💐

Just to be clear, @landOFconfusion , are you saying the founder of the first ever gay pride march has no right to go to a Pride parade?

Or that he does, but only so long as he participates in the groupthink?

Just to be clear, I’m saying that the person who attended a pride event for the purpose of creating confrontation got exactly what he wanted: confrontation.

It’s entirely possible to despise both sides in a situation like this.

What is so special about a Pride event that a gay man who was instrumental in the Pride movement cannot protest what it has become?

Why are you victim blaming? Surely, everyone should be able to protest legally without being assaulted?

How bizzarre.

Abhannmor · 24/09/2022 10:44

I'd have - a small bit - less contempt for that post if they just spat it out. Fred has no right to say things that might be true but which we find annoying. He got a beating and can only blame himself.

There. Bit unpleasant but less mealy mouthed.

WalrusSubmarine · 24/09/2022 10:58

A beating from a gang of TRAs, skinheads, taliban, rednecks - it’s all the same. They don’t want you to talk about being gay or protesting about gay rights. It’s homophobic and abusive and has no place in a democratic society.

Holding a different view is in no way “asking for it.”

I hope he recovers. He should really be enjoying his retirement - he’s been protesting for 50 years.

purpleboy · 24/09/2022 11:32

@landOFconfusion confrontation is one thing, physical assault is something totally different surely?
Are you saying that he got what he deserved? It sure sounds like, so that would mean it's ok to physically assault someone who's opinion you don't agree with? Pretty dangerous territory I would say.

TastefulRainbowUnicorn · 24/09/2022 11:37

So the post condemning the victim blaming was deleted, but the disgusting pro gay-bashing post that it was responding to is still up there. WTF, MNHQ.

BirdinaHedge · 24/09/2022 13:07

You've clearly got superhuman powers @landOFconfusion to know what Mr Sargeant intended. He attended a GAY pride event with a sign which announced he is GAY.

Interesting that we are all supposed to use everyone's preferred pronouns, respect their identities etc etc , but the same respect is not given to others with whom the homophobic trans-rights activists disagree..

Mr Sargeant's statement that he is "Gay not queer" is causing the same entitled narcissistic outrage that women meet when they as not to be called "cis."

BirdinaHedge · 24/09/2022 13:09

Holding a different view is in no way “asking for it.”

This. We need to keep saying this.

Thanks for putting it so succinctly, @WalrusSubmarine

Shepostsamongus · 25/09/2022 16:54

@landOFconfusion That's a sort of moral relativism that aims to minimise the truly despicable behaviour on show here. Peaceful protest is allowed and is an essential facet of any civilised democracy. That's all Fred was doing, and he had every right to.

ArcheryAnnie · 25/09/2022 22:40

Just to be clear, I’m saying that the person who attended a pride event for the purpose of creating confrontation got exactly what he wanted: confrontation.

@landOFconfusion what do you imagine the early days of Pride were like? Because gay men and lebsians and bisexuals had the audacity to be out in public, being visible about being gay, and not hiding themselves away, homophones took that as provocation and said then, "oh these guys are shoving their sexuality in our faces", and then used that as an excuse for gaybashing.

You are doing exactly the same thing. Fred is daring to have an opinion about his own sexuality, on public, and you are citing that as an excuse for gaybashing. They kicked a man in his seventies to the ground, hit him in the head multiple times, poured coffee on him, pushed the point of umbrella into his back. And you are saying that's what he wanted.

Hang your head in shame, @landOFconfusion .

Very moving. No wonder Glinner was upset. Fred, so sorry this has happened, please look after yourself. ❤️
