Stonewall, The FA and Womens football

Apologies if I've missed this, but I've not seen a thread tackling this issue.

Stonewall and their rainbow laces campaign is pushed by The FA across the mens and womens game.

Stonewall tweeting support for every England womens football match, flogging their rainbow armbands.

And The FA Trans Inclusion policy very clearly stating:

Trans doesn't have to be medical, it includes anyone who socially transitions only, or simply identifies as a cross dresser.

Trans players can play on the team their gender identity matches.

Showers, changing rooms and toilets should be accessible based on their self identified gender.

"Some trans women may be happy to change or shower in open facilities alongside other women" "It is good practice to ask a trans person what would work best for them"

• Players aged 18 and under
The Fa allows mixed competition for players aged 18 and under, and boys and girls can play football together on the same team .
any trans person in this age range is able to play on whichever team they feel suits them best, whether that’s boys, girls or mixed .

With the next generation of girls being inspired right now to start or keep playing football, how on earth can The FA also undermine their privacy, dignity and competitiveness by forcing girls to share teams and showers with boys? (and potentially being supervised in those showers by adult male coaches).

It's all rainbow washing anyway. Next men's World Cup is in Qatar, isn't it?

Absolutely. But that's little consolation to female players that will be thrown under the bus in the UK. Total hypocrisy from the football authorities.

Looks like the Mail are on it. Don't particularly like Dan Wootton's articles but this is very good. I like how he starts with clueless Starmer's views:

FFS! The FA's "A Guide to Including Trans People in Football" linked to by the OP blatantly misrepresents the law, despite mentioning the Equality Act. No mention of the exemptions for fairness and safety in sport or for single-sex facilities for safety, privacy and dignity - instead it suggests (page 09) that discrimination could include "Refusing to let a trans woman play on the women's team" and "Refusing access to the toilets of the trans person's self-identified gender".

This shit needs de-Stonewalling urgently.

Maybe someone maybe write to Woman’s Hour about it. (I just wrote about something else.)

The Equalities Minister must be busy campaigning. Does she have a deputy?

Minister for Sport Nigel Huddleston was refusing to take responsibility really in this March statement.

I do have to trust individual sports governing bodies in the UK and internationally to come up with what is right for them."

It's a good time to talk about this, because next year could be a very different story and to be honest it would undo all of the work gone into making women's football credible. They've just proven how bankable they are and the level of public interest in women's football is higher than thought.

The result has been meaningful on many levels and it just wouldn't have the same impact as watching mixed sport. The public usually want to watch fair sport, whoever is taking part.
