And stop pretending that trans inclusive has to mean no single sex anything,

Anyone insisting that lesbians have to sleep with transwomen isn't being trans inclusive it's being morally bankrupt

Propaganda gibberish.

I was a unison member at my old org and had already written to them to explain why i won't be re-joining at my new org. There are alternative unions to join which is good, but i need to do some research on them.

That would be a waste of time, women have spoken, why would they want members that disagree with the policy of the union?

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 16/06/2022 15:50

Oh Sunbow, you are absolutely right. Take no notice of all these women who don’t get that they are part of the covert right wing takeover in our society.

I'm just disappointed that you didn’t mention the far right ‘s advocacy for giving children untested hormone treatments designed for completely different ailments, and encouraging them to cut off irreplaceable parts of their anatomy. They are all just following in the footsteps of Mengele , he was a Nasty , right? Well, there you go.

DeaconBoo · 16/06/2022 15:51

I'm not sure @SunbowRainshine31 knows what gender critical is.

What do I believe as a gender-critical person, @SunbowRainshine31 ? Can you set this out in a way that I would agree is accurate?

Listen to women, and pay attention when they speak up.

Such as the unison position.

SunbowRainshine31 · 16/06/2022 15:56

Maybe don't take it for granted that everyone Gender-critical on here and other places ISNT a far-right woman, or a man.

because the vast majority are indeed, and that is evidenced far and wide.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 16/06/2022 15:57

You think every member of a union must agree with all the policies of a union? So no room for majority votes? No room for debate? No policies ever changing because everyone must agree with the old policy?

Cattenberg · 16/06/2022 16:00

I’m a member of Unison and didn’t know there was going to be a vote! Maybe it was mentioned in the summer edition of U magazine, that I haven’t got round to reading yet?

I know for a fact that they aren't, because I am gender critical and definitely not "far right"!

Inside your head, maybe. Meanwhile, back on planet real, less so.

Except the women who say they believe a woman is an adult human female and that sex matters, presumably?

diningiswest · 16/06/2022 16:02

Why would women want a union that is not acting in their best interests?

babyjellyfish · 16/06/2022 16:02

SunbowRainshine31 · 16/06/2022 15:45

Propaganda gibberish.

So you disagree that "trans inclusive" means no single sex spaces then?

What do you think it means?

DialSquare · 16/06/2022 16:02

I'm gender critical and I'm not far right.

Ah, bless, you couldn't answer.
Why are you even arguing when you don't know what gender-critical is?

(To anyone lurking: this is all they have. It always has been. They can't engage in actual good-faith discussion so it's deflect, don't answer, can't answer, won't answer because the answer looks bad).

DeaconBoo · 16/06/2022 16:08

I'd bet my house that "evidenced far and wide" means "a man said it on Twitter".

babyjellyfish · 16/06/2022 16:09

babyjellyfish · 16/06/2022 16:10

Oh sorry, thought Sunbow said that.

Beamur · 16/06/2022 16:11

All it requires for a resolution to pass is for it to be voted on at a quorate meeting. Whilst the level of attendees required to be quorate will have been set at a legitimate meeting, and is acceptable as a means to allow due process, it can't really be extrapolated as meaning everyone in Unison agrees with this (or any policy). If you had a branch of say 5,000 members and it was quorate at 500, then all you would need would be 251 people to pass the resolution.. It's a legitimate decision, but not necessarily representative.

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 16/06/2022 16:12

SunbowRainshine31 · 16/06/2022 10:22

Unison quite rightly points out transphobia is used as a far-right recruitment tool via propaganda.

One angle of which is to pretend transphobia and bigotry, is just 'legitimate concerns' or 'sex is real' whilst fearmongering and demonising trans people, especially trans women.

This forum responds with the EXACT same far-right propaganda, fearmongering, and demonising trans women, unison are pointing out.

You know, anyone would think Unison was bang on the money here.

They so blatantly ARE.

Please be specific? Exactly what is transphobic?

Cattenberg · 16/06/2022 16:13

Maybe don't take it for granted that everyone Gender-critical on here and other places ISNT a far-right woman, or a man.

Are you confusing gender-traditionalist, American Republicans with gender-critical British women?

What do you think “gender-critical” actually means?

WellThatsMeScrewed · 16/06/2022 16:14

First @SunbowRainshine31 you do realise you’re not making my new arguments? Have you actually read any of the threads on this section? I have for a number of years and I have yet to see any ‘far right’ views. In fact what I’ve mostly seen is women who are left politically and feel lost as their natural political allies (Labour and Greens) abandon womens rights.

Also can I ask are you a member of a Union? I’ve been a pair up member of a union for 20 odd years. Not very ‘far right’ and yet still stand for womens sex based rights.

Forget left and right

Think right or wrong . Basic moral values

This. With (biological or otherwise) knobs on

WellThatsMeScrewed · 16/06/2022 16:16

Grrrr @MNHQ please bring in edit!!!

Paid up not pair

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 16/06/2022 16:17

... and still no specifics on what transphobic things have been said.

Also I've no idea who Matt Walsh is .
