So disgusted tonight

Owen Jones and Pink News tweeted about the two Helens, Joyce and Staniland and their YouTube chat .. Jones taking what they said completely out of context it's resulted in some of the most vile abuse aimed at Helen Joyce in particular on twitter tonight. So many death threats.

I wish there was something we could do, it's so utterly vile, it's time they were held to account for their lies. It's really upsetting.

Owen Jones isn't fit to lace Helen's shoes, I cant believe The Guardian still employ him. I've seen threats to murder, throw napalm in their faces from Joss Prior and many many more. It's disgusting and all down to Owen.

How can this stand up to any level of journalistic ethics or integrity.

It's time we did something, some kind of collective action.

Oh, here's the follow up to the woman who blinded herself, explicitly noting the equivalence with transgenderism.

He's calling her deliberate self-blinding 'sight reassignment'.

Helen Joyce wasn’t just talking about children, she was talking about every single person that transitioned. She basically said the world would be a better or more sane place without transitioned people.

Who else is it ok to say that about?

Who else? Good question. Can I begin?

(For different reasons and in different way, obvs ...)

-- Unhappy people; sufferers from incurable cancer; stupid people; football hooligans; old etonians; unelected dictators; soldiers; people wounded in war; people who steal library books; people with asthma; ... and so on and so on.

What d'you think? Would the world be a better or more sane place with fewer unhappy people and no need for Salbutamol inhalers?

You may disagree with some of these. But it doesn't follow from the fact that we wish for fewer unhappy people in the world, for instance, that we wish to exterminate all those with frowns. Does it?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/06/2022 14:17

Genocide has a clear meaning: it means the deliberate mass murder of an ethnic, racial or cultural group.

It doesn’t mean other things.

Agree. Homicide means murder. Suicide means killing yourself. Regicide means killing the monarch.

It's about literal violence, the real kind.

SamphirethePogoingStickerist · 06/06/2022 14:24

Surely it is for people in the affected group to say whether it would have been better for them not to have existed, or to have existed differently?

Yeah. But when they speak out and don't toe the TRA party line they get called names and vilified.

When posters here who have spoken to trans friends about this post we get vilified for speaking for trans people or utterly ignored - see my post upthread.

It's actually impossible to get an honest response that also makes sense. But l, like many others, am still here, waiting, ready to listen and discuss.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/06/2022 14:36

What she said just follows on from what she and her followers have said before. I see the new #stanilandquestion has been posted on twitter.

Yes, a lot of hyperbolic nonsense gets posted on Twitter by a range of people, perhaps you are familiar with that popular social media site, when not commenting on online broadsheet websites?

TastefulRainbowUnicorn · 06/06/2022 15:25

Ugh, these morons. It’s insulting to the intelligence of (almost) everyone who posts here to interpret Helen Joyce’s comments in the style of Chicken Little having a bad trip. It’s pure bullshit. Everyone knows that wasn’t what she meant. Everyone. It’s a pointless theatre of politeness even pretending to take this tedious testeria seriously.

(Also: if you encounter one eliminationist who’s out to destroy your people, that’s unfortunate. If you’re seeing eliminationists who are out to destroy your people all day long, everywhere you turn, you’re a Nazi. Or at least, a proto-Nazi. Get a goddamn grip.)

nepeta · 06/06/2022 16:05

Clearly we have tremendous problems because of the capture of language when it comes to trans issues.

What is a woman? Why is 'woman' a concept to be re-purposed while 'man' largely is not?

Why is 'genocide' suddenly something quite different from how it has been defined for a long time?

What is real trans?

What is conversion therapy?

When is medical treatment necessary but not for a condition that is defined as natural human variation?

What is the difference between saying that someone wishes certain painful conditions not to exist or the people with those conditions not to exist?

It is extremely tiring.

"How many is enough trans people and why did you not say zero?"

Sickening in reality.

Sterilising kids.

That is what is sickening in reality.

What? Who has posted that question? Do you have a link or a screenshot because I looked on twitter under that hashtag and couldn't find it.

SamphirethePogoingStickerist · 06/06/2022 16:59

Only Kev has actually asked that question, isn't that right Kev of Manchester.

Or are we not supposed to notice such bollocks?

Well I can't find that question anywhere except in your post, Manchester.

However, the question I do remember that Helen Staniland asked everyone was do you think that men should have the right to get undressed in the same changing room as teenage girls?

Showing all the yuckiness up for what it is.

The Staniland Question

"Revealing misogynists everywhere".

Datun · 06/06/2022 19:15

"My blood is boiling.
Soooo fucking much!
The absolute fucking arrogance, of these two braindead dickheads, spelling out the fascistic solution to trans people exhibiting natural human diversity, is sick, twisted, perverted, and beyond callous and evil!
I don't have the words..."

Oh dear Goddd. No wonder people come off Twitter.

The mix of ugh at quite so much splattering anger, coupled with some totally involuntary snorting, is a little unusual, I'm not gonna lie.

MaudeYoung · 06/06/2022 19:16

@Datun The key point about the "Staniland Question" is that it is on the radar of relevant decision makers. The people we need to know about this now know thanks, in part, to the "Staniland Question". This question must continue to be asked to come to the attention of new decision makers.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 06/06/2022 19:16

Is this the Twitter version that confers a level of grandiosity on the Tweeter In Question (aka TIQ) that exceeds Louis XIV's "L'état c'est moi?" or just standard male perception of their own entitlement for a single claim to be accepted uncritically and no thought to fact-checking.

It does say something, however, of how unplugged some Tweeters must be from the networks over which they imply dominion.

Indeed. It's such a revealing question.

Who, in their right mind, would ever say yes.

MaudeYoung · 06/06/2022 19:28

@Datun "Is that the same Alex Sharpe who is part of Garden court Chambers?"

Yes.

I believe he also featured in Allison Bailey's tribunal, although not called as a witness.

MagnoliaTaint · 06/06/2022 19:48

Alex Sharpe has written a whole book on 'gender fraud' (or 'sex by deception')

Reporting what actually happened with time stamps - not in the spirit of the debate about the thing that happened when the people actually did what was listed in the deleted post.

DON'T TELL EM PIKE.
