60%+ think will have a negative impact.

Nicola will just push ahead despite this though won't she. 🤬

Ha ha. This is a great response.

That is amazing. Am I the only one who a) wonders if she walks among us and b) hopes she undertakes the art project regardless of whether the law is changed.

You can search the responses for keywords if you can think of any words in your response that might narrow the number of possibilities down a bit. Not sure how to find out what number has been allocated to a response.

You should have been sent a confirmation of submission email which has a unique number in it.

Try searching your email account using 'Scottish government'.

I gave permission for my response to be published. But I can't find it online under my hame, and I don't know how to find out if a number has been assigned to it. Does anyone know how to find your response?

They say they received over 11,000 responses, but they've only published about 800 so far. Yours probably hasn't been published yet.

That is a concern, particularly since so many people who don't live in Scotland seem to have answered it, it seems open to accusations of "brigading" in order to skew the results.

Do we know if the answers from outside Scotland fell overwhelmingly into one camp or the other? I can see theoretical arguments for both pro and con sides urging for people to fill in the questionnaire.

I think the 11,000 refers to anonymous short survey responses and the 800 to the long-form survey?

SpindleInTheWind · 24/05/2022 01:49

A lot of people who live outside of Scotland genuinely do have skin in the game, because they’re Scottish living outside Scottish perhaps temporarily, or because looser Scottish GRC rules would potentially bring ‘women’ to live and work in England who would not be ‘women’ under the system in England itself.

How would this affect the UK? Its services, sports, employment practices etc? It baffles me.

SpindleInTheWind · 24/05/2022 01:50

living outside Scotland ^^

The word clouds are ... odd things to include.

I'm actually stunned that they think these are appropriate! It's a report on serious legislation, not a conference feedback report!

2Rebecca · 24/05/2022 08:03

Mine is on there but I did the long form and just omitted some sections

2Rebecca · 24/05/2022 08:04

Agree the word clouds and diagrams linking words look more like a marketing project

ChopinBoard · 24/05/2022 08:10

2Rebecca you saying "marketing project" in the context of the Scottish GRA "consultation" made me think of the Kettering episode of Peep Show and the impossible, doomed-to-failure Project Zeus

Ferngreen · 24/05/2022 08:14

Great results - annoying that the YES info is put first when the NO has a bigger number of votes but is put second.

Waitwhat23 · 23/05/2022 22:15

They've made it very clear in the linked publication that they don't consider this representative. What a surprise. They'll just ignore the evidence, as they did for the last two consultations.

Excellent response in the longer calls for evidence though - yourviews.parliament.scot/ehrcj/1e24dbb1/consultation/view_respondent?_b_index=600&uuId=266462780

Nicely illustrates the absurdity of it all.

Stroopwaffels · 24/05/2022 08:40

I have no idea who Lesley Mackintosh is, but her comments sum up my feelings on the matter entirely.

yourviews.parliament.scot/ehrcj/1e24dbb1/consultation/view_respondent?_b_index=120&uuId=1038511887

I am in Scotland and know how Sturgeon and her cronies work. They will totally disregard this consultation and press on regardless. They have no choice as getting any legislation through parliament is dependent on their pals in the Greens who want to go even further on the GRC stuff.

Floisme · 24/05/2022 08:46

To be fair, I think I remember the UK consultation showing a majority of responses in favour of self ID, but that a lot were discarded because of concerns about gaming the result with multiple / indentikit answers. Given the antipathy towards outside interference, I'm uneasy about English voters getting too involved with this and I hope we're taking advice from women in Scotland because, if not I think it could backfire badly.

MagnoliaTaint · 24/05/2022 08:53

Sturgeon holds the electorate in contempt. That much has been made quite clear. She said this was an exercise in trying to persuade people, which gives the lie to it being a 'consultation'.

Stroopwaffels · 24/05/2022 08:56

And if you really want to see what sort of thing we are dealing with in Scotland with their insistence on us being all different and special, try to get your heads around this one.

www.heraldscotland.com/politics/20160480.gender-reform-scotland-majority-responders-opposed-law-reform/

Quote from the article -

'A Scottish Government spokesperson said: “We will continue to work to reach consensus on our Bill which will reform the process by which a trans person can gain legal recognition'.

It's quite clear they've no intention of dropping it no matter the results of consultations, polls or calls to evidence. And I agree with you Stroop regarding the Greens.

Rainbowshit · 24/05/2022 09:11

Have you seen the photo the herald chose to add to that story? 🤔

I know 🙄they've also made very sure to caption the women's rights march photo as one that took place in London. There's really no photos of any marches/demonstrations in Scotland?

They could have put a still of the 'witch, witch!' numpty to be more honest about what's going on here.

SweetPatch · 24/05/2022 09:38

Slight heart stopping moment checking to see if my response under my own name was there (I couldn't remember what I'd selected)

I'm not ready to be out at work (oh the irony - 'bring your whole self to work') mostly because I cant see myself being able to explain my position without a tonne of emotion. So angry & upset. I also can't see this halting the SNPs militant ideological juggernaut.

By 'English voters' I assume you mean people who live in other parts of the UK. But this would affect the whole of the UK, as FPFW made clear. We have every right to get involved, whether we live in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland or England.

The report includes this quote from supporters of the Bill

”Concern that the debate has been dominated by “small” and “vocal” “astroturfing” groups against the Bill that claim to have mass support “but do not represent the vast majority of women”

is “astroturfing” a euphemism for Terf! Or does it mean something else?

Is that another performance art one?

The projection never ends.
