There are gc feminists who use womxn and womyn. They've been used since the 1970s - it's about erasing the 'men' part of women. And women having a word that doesn't reference men.
Are you sure, Daisy? I remember womyn being widely used among feminists in the 70s, and sometimes wimmin, as you say to avoid including man/men.
I don't remember seeing womxn -- not that that means it was never used, I just never happened to see it.
The daft thing is that womxn has started being used recently,
to include males. It would make more sense to have been used in the 70s to exclude males. But I've never spotted any logic in the trans movement ...
