A whistleblower has spoken to Lesbian and Gay News saying that Lush reversed a decision to fund groups to support young lesbians as they feared bullying and harassment from trans activists.

@Viviennemary

I haven't bought a lush product for years. They are vile. Seems out and out war now against trans people. I dont support that. Its intolerance. Getting very sick of it.
Our objections to Lush are due to their hostility towards women and due to them reversing a decision to fund a lesbian group because they feared harassment from trans activists. Not sure how you contort that into out and out war against trans people Confused

Self defence against hostile attack does not make us the attackers - you’re doing the Reverse Victim and Offender part of DAVRO here

This particular case is clearly a 'war' on women, specifically lesbians. Supporting these groups would have done trans people precisely no harm.

Oh that's so disappointing Sad

TRAs are adamant that women and lesbians can have nothing for themselves. Nothing.

Shame on Lush for not standing up to the bullies.

I used to like their shampoo bars but have not set foot in one of their shops for nearly a decade, I do not regret it and I discourage other women I know from having anything to do with them. horrible company that hates women, treats their staff badly, couldnt give a stuff about people with allergies and lies about itself, they are a massive company with shops in 40 countries still trying to hoodwink people into thinking they are a small ethical company and their products are not environmentally friendly, they may not be as bad as others on that front but theres certainly a hell of a lot of companies that are more green, more ethical and dont hate women.

@Sophoclesthefox

I used to regularly shop there, until they started serving up misogyny alongside the bath bombs, and unleashing their student politics to run free through the face masks. Now I see they have added lesbophobia to the Christmas range, I certainly won’t be revising that decision. Found better products elsewhere anyway Grin

There isn’t enough soap in any of their stores to cleanse the association with extreme porn advocacy as noted upthread. Urgh.

@Sophoclesthefox Are you are writer. That was quite richly worded.
EarthSight · 17/12/2021 17:57

@Sophoclesthefox Maybe I should say poetic

The only thing I'll miss from Lush is some of their perfumes ( some of them are now extremely expensive though).

You can source many great products online that are colourful, fun, and probably better for your skin.

@Mittenmob don't know how old your DD is, but Dolly & Friends sell vegan, cruelty-free, etc bars and stuff. And they're palm oil-free which I know Lush isn't.

Thanks for the suggestions I'll take a look. She's 6 and loves anything that smells like vile bubble gum. She'd have loved the body shop in the 90s. I bet she'd have been a fan of fuzzy peach!

Poundland is often full of crap like that, the bollocks no one wants like Fruit salad imperial leather bathwash and lovehearts shampoo and all kinds of other things from big brands you never seen anywhere else. Savers has alot of that too.

@Needmoresleep

I met someone who approved of Lush. He was a manager at a firm located on the same industrial estate as Lush. Their manufacturing process was pretty smelly, but they did not get any complaints as it was all masked by the dreadful pong coming from Lush.
Fair enough! Grin
