A whistleblower has spoken to Lesbian and Gay News saying that Lush reversed a decision to fund groups to support young lesbians as they feared bullying and harassment from trans activists.

A reminder of the previous thread of Lush handing out breast binders to young girls in their Paddington store without parents knowledge or consent, a massive safeguarding failure

Although they allowed extreme porn advocate "Jane Fae"/John Ozimek to come in and talk to customers about censoring the press

Cowards. I saw this on Twitter

Homophobic cowards

Truthlikeness · 16/12/2021 19:13

I actually like Lush products (putting me in the minority, I know) and also bought them often as gifts, but I vowed they'd get another penny from me after they said they'd refuse to serve women wearing t-shirts with a dictionary definition of the word 'woman'. I can't say I've regretted my decision.

WomanStillNotAFeeling · 16/12/2021 19:28

I used to buy their stuff as a treat but not bought anything since they started accusing women defending their rights of being transphobic.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 16/12/2021 19:40

They're such a grim company - fake smells, fake values with a centre core of lesbophobia running throughout.

ErrolTheDragon · 16/12/2021 19:42

Misogynistic homophobia behind a sickly sweet exterior. Ugh.

Still, I guess that is another couple of organisations for women that people may now get to know about and want to donate to.

VestofAbsurdity · 16/12/2021 19:46

Pathetic cowards.

BreatheAndFocus · 16/12/2021 20:31

Yeah, I stopped buying Lush a while ago. There are plenty of nicer products that don’t come with a big helping of homophobia, misogyny and regressive stereotypes.

Their comments about lesbians are disgusting and I wish someone would prosecute them personally.

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 16/12/2021 22:21

Funny how homophobia is now fashionable among the people who call feminists bigoted.

ChakaFridaMendips · 17/12/2021 05:03

Feared the reaction from Trans activists. Yep.

Homophobic cowards.

Igmum · 17/12/2021 06:40

Awful. The bullies have taken over the debate. Well done L and G News for reporting on this

LaBellina · 17/12/2021 06:45

Just Google what kind of grim misogynist treatment Lush has given their female staff for years prior to the trans debate and you’ll know that this isn’t surprising.
I don’t buy any of their shit anymore.

Sunkisses · 17/12/2021 06:55

This is hilarious. Whilst the rest of the world are starting to wake up and run as fast as they can away from Stonewall. Lush have just joined! GrinConfused

I used to regularly shop there, until they started serving up misogyny alongside the bath bombs, and unleashing their student politics to run free through the face masks. Now I see they have added lesbophobia to the Christmas range, I certainly won’t be revising that decision. Found better products elsewhere anyway Grin

There isn’t enough soap in any of their stores to cleanse the association with extreme porn advocacy as noted upthread. Urgh.

Datun · 17/12/2021 08:49

You want to give money to support lesbians, but change your mind at the last minute because they're lesbians.

Utter tossers.

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 17/12/2021 08:52

You literally couldn’t make it up. That’s them breaching two parts of the Equality Act right there. And they think they are the good guys? And it’s the lesbians who are the bad guys for saying no to men?

Needmoresleep · 17/12/2021 08:56

I met someone who approved of Lush. He was a manager at a firm located on the same industrial estate as Lush. Their manufacturing process was pretty smelly, but they did not get any complaints as it was all masked by the dreadful pong coming from Lush.

Toseland · 17/12/2021 08:58

I wonder how many other shops and services this is happening to that we don’t know about. I used to buy Xmas presents for my nieces there, but haven’t since they said they women (adult human females) weren’t welcome in their shops. It’s so sad to see these shops all turning against women - we should use our spending power wisely.

Mittenmob · 17/12/2021 08:58

My daughter loves lush but I can't buy from somewhere that hands out binders to kids.

Has anyone got recommendations of places that do similar products without the agenda?

RoyalCorgi · 17/12/2021 10:35

Shocking. I'm not buying from Lush again.

When did such blatant homophobia become so acceptable?

I'm similar...other suggestions welcome. Glad Sex Matters is highlighting it.
Thelnebriati · 17/12/2021 12:06

This is direct discrimination, isn't it.

I haven't bought a lush product for years. They are vile. Seems out and out war now against trans people. I dont support that. Its intolerance. Getting very sick of it.
